The other night my 3dsmax froze in the middle of a saving Voyager, resulting in a corrupt file and a few hours worth of lost work. I tried what I could to forcibly load the corrupt file but I couldn't revive it =P. I screamed and threw shit across the room like any other sane person would do. Fortunately I do save new files incrementally, but only about every 10 saves. Unfortunately this happened around the 9th save lol. The next day I redid everything I had lost, and was even able to make a few slight improvements. TIP: NEVER JUST MAKE 1 FILE AND KEEP OVERWRITING IT, IN ANY SOFTWARE. THERE IS ALWAYS A CHANCE OF CORRUPTION. SAVING A FEW MBS IS JUST NOT WORTH IT. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Nonetheless, I’m still more or less on schedule.. I think. I'm not actually keeping track of the days, but it should be uploaded on Monday at the latest. ----------------------------------------------------------------- All that’s left is a few physics details Voyager (guardrails, consoles) and to finish the Romulan Warbird’s physics as well. I’m also going to leave the top of the Warbird’s head hollow, so people can place a modular bridge inside of it. (It’s insanely large. I personally wouldn’t even want to fly it)I also need to playtest all the ships for general bugs, such as broken textures and unacceptable gaps in the physics – which there should not be since I more or less do this when I complete each ship. Just a precaution. Update: I thought otherwise, but the Type 9 can NOT fit inside Enterprise-E the standard way. The shuttle is slightly too large, and I can’t resize the passageway or the Type 9 enough to correct this. Sorry. Here is the final shuttle bay of Enterprise-E. * The Type 11 shuttle docks properly with the shuttle harness, which also extends and retracts as intended. * The hazard striped platform allows players to exit the Type 11 when it's door is extended. * The hazard striped columns are solid, and are to prevent smaller shuttles who enter the standard way from barreling into the Type 11 and/or killing players. * The ramps on the opposite end go to the observation lounge [img]http://99.33.52.206/Enterprise-EInteriorFinal.jpg[/img]

How will that work?[/QUOTE] Look at the 2 hydraulic-looking tubes near the front of of the frame. At that angle, the frame and part of the cieling extend outward, like an old tape deck. The Type 11 should line up with it and approach it slowly until it slides into the frame and comes to a stop. The spikes you see slide over and under the Shuttle's Nacelle arms,and inbewteen it's hull and the nacelles themselves - locking it shuttle in place. By mounting a grabber on the shuttle frame, you can hold it there while you retract the frame back into the ship using hydraulics. Everything is marked. The only reason its so complicated is because of the size difference. There is not 1 other single cavity on that Enterprise-E which could contain that large shuttle. If the shuttle isnt EXACLTLY there, it would protrude from the Starship. The catwalk you see is perfectly positioned so that when the shuttle is docked, its ramp/door sits on it as if it were ground level. Players can exit the shuttle, run down one of the stairs, underneath the shuttle, and up the other ramp into the observation deck/bridge

Much appreciated all. Elliot, try 3dripper dx in conjuction with 3dsmax version 9 (supports all necessary plugins). Then just use youtube tutorials.

god damnit. well I put it in a self extracing uharc file (30% more compressed than zip)which is completely necessary due to its size. The 'report' was automatic I think, because theres an exe inside the zip. If the admin rejects it in that format(79mb), I'll just reupload as a .zip(115mb) tomorrow. Its not my bandwidth getting wasted over format discrimination =/ I hope it gets inspected soon. I was just trying to be efficient

heh. There wont be a 1.1 unless I find enough things wrong with 1.0 that need to be fixed, but it wouldnt contain new ships A pack of new ships would have a different name entirely, but for now, I'm only going to make one at a time. Nothing planned as of now though.

From my notes: Intrepid - 344m = 2641 Units Galaxy - 643m = 4936 Units Sovereign - 686m = 5266 Units ------------------------------------- Voyager (Intrepid) is what most of my other ships are scaled after.
