Even if it is, at least the seams are intact. Heck, if I had a character model in t-pose I could UV it myself.
But unfortunately I don't, I need to ask you guys for those.
I'll gladly send my Wei over to get uv'd, because I do not know how to UV people(I can kinda UV map heads)
I'll gladly send my Wei over to get uv'd, because I do not know how to UV people(I can kinda UV map heads)
Send it over and I'll try my best to finish it.
What about non-people though? Can you do vehicles?

I don't uv map much, I usually mess most UVs up.

Same here. Although pre-existing seams will make things a lot easier.

It's a little big
It's a little big
It's not too big, your world is just too small. Seriously though, it's scaled perfectly with the TF2 characters.
fix smoothing 2 pls
I know how to make things sharp, but not how to make them smooth. Does your box have a tutorial in it?
EDIT: It seems that it does not. Oh well, I guess you'll just have to live with broken smoothing then.
It's not too big, your world is just too small. Seriously though, it's scaled perfectly with the TF2 characters.
If I might make a suggestion, why not compile a second version that's more to scale with the HL2 citizens? No offense meant by this, but the TF2 characters have some ridiculous proportions that make them a bit awkward to use for scaling purposes outside of making something TF2-related, and using them for that purpose will lead to some odd results with the scaling like what Minimole pointed out.
If it irks you so much then just do yourself real fast. I included the source files for a reason you know.
Also, have a WIP. The character had waaay too many vertices, so I decided to practice on something simpler first.
looks like we got a new mariokart64n in town
Decided to do a bit of work on the windows so that they actually look like they're there.

Should I make it a bit more transparent, or is it good as it is?
Why would you scale it for tf2 anyway
Why would you scale it for tf2 anyway
Assuming he's who I think he might be over at GameBanana, he mostly works with TF2 related content. I don't know if that really has anything to do with it though, but it might.
Edit:
Uhh...if I can, I think I might also rework the bottom of this model.
looks like we got a new mariokart64n in town
I can't tell if that's an insult or a compliment.
Why would you scale it for tf2 anyway
Because it was originally intended as a static prop for koth_king that I just was going to keep for myself.
Uhh...if I can, I think I might also rework the bottom of this model.
Like I said, none of them have undersides. That one bit was added by Stiffy.
Okay, that's obviously an insult.
But hey, I never did. I made this thread, and gave you guys this model plus a ton of other ones, which I'm sure is way more than this mario fellow did.
Can we stay on topic please? This is Modeling, not Mass Debate.

No offense dude but you did kinda come of as a jerk when Rin and I told you about the scale and smoothing as criticism and You replied with "Do it yourself"
fix the smoothing please.
I tried asking you how, but you just gave me a box with nothing in it.
No offense dude but you did kinda come of as a jerk when I told you about the scale and You replied with "Do it yourself"
It just irked me slightly that you were asking for something you could easily do yourself in less than three minutes.
But then again I suppose it was unwarranted, considering I have to rely on other people to get all this stuff in the first place.
Alright, fine. What size do you need?
EDIT: I don't see you helping Disso, so deal with it.
I don't use Max.
I guess I'll just google it.
Alright, fine. What size do you need?
Given that a majority of the vehicle models seem to be based with HL2 characters in general, I'd assume scaling it to fit with those characters would be the best route to go with. I'm already in the process of recompiling the model, I just need to figure out the right value to put in for the $scale command to get it right.
I just need to figure out the right value to put in for the $scale command to get it right.
You could also just import a character into a 3D program and use it as a reference.
I know the underside sucks, I'm still working on it. The model viewer is also a bit retarded with showing textures properly for some reason.

I will say though, the minivan from GTA IV actually has a decent underside that almost fits perfectly with this model. I still need to rework it properly to fit the model better, but I think this will work.
-see below post-
So I finally learned how to UV map vehicles!
EDIT: Fixed.

the front is reverse and smoothing needs work
the front is reverse and smoothing needs work
The front is supposed to be reversed.

You all know perfectly well that I will fix the smoothing later. Don't be such asshats, I just wanted to show the texture.
EDIT: Joining on the hate bandwagon are we Gibbon? I see how it is. I got no problem adding you to my ignore list as well.
You all know perfectly well that I will fix the smoothing later. Don't be such asshats, I just wanted to show the texture.
I never said it was a bad UV. I didn't know it was reversed.
learn to accept criticism.
I already accepted that criticism. I'm just irked that you are still yelling it at me, despite the fact that I stated I will fix it.
why the fuck is it reverse
Because fuck you, that's why. :v:
Jokes aside, that's just how it is with ambulances in general. When you look into the side or rear-view mirrors in your car while driving across a sign, you'll notice that the text is mirrored and doesn't look right. With an ambulance, they mirror the text so that you see it normally in the mirrors. They do this so that drivers can immediately identify that it's an ambulance.
you didn't say you where gonna fix it
We had a whole discussion on this on the previous page. Why do you care anyway? It's not like you or anyone else is going to use these for anything.
At this point it's not even about the models, it's personal. Now please go away.

And I just noticed that the english text is mirrored, but the chinese text is not. Let me fix that.
EDIT: Alright, there we go, it's all fixed.

What.
People will use these, why would they not? A lot of people use ported models for poses, Though more people would probably use them if the characters were ported, which at the moment can not be done unless someone wants to UV map it.
