I posted a whole pack of screenshots in the first post of this thread, but here's a direct link for convenience.
Stand by for scooter.

i asked mariokart64n and this is the most interesting part in his answer :

RE can get you anything, so yes it'll get you models.
scripting is just a way to program, ive been doing it for the last 3 years off and on. i'm not as good as my mentor, chrrox
So I added some more info to the Xentax thread and someone finally responded. Now we have textures!
Models next!
can that tool get all the textures ?
So I added some more info to the Xentax thread and someone finally responded. Now we have textures!

I assume so. You just need to open a _TS0.temp.bin file and fiddle with the settings.
that's good, now with that program is going to make you easy to get the textures for the game
In case anyone hasn't noticed, someone released a mesh extractor for Sleeping Dogs over at Xentax:http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10779
I don't know how effective this tool is, since I don't own the game on PC, just on Xbox 360.

gah i picked the wrong time to have my old hard drive not plugged in, I put my extracted big files on that!
It's only in the alpha stage, you need to know what you're doing to use it properly.
Heck it doesn't even work for me. I've asked the creator, hopefully I'm just doing something wrong.
It seem to work pretty good, the eye and mouth uvs are flipped though.

HD Wei Head
Well... fuck. If I ever get this thing working I'll see what I can do about porting some models to Source, but I can't promise anything.
EDIT: Rinfect, you've already been banned once, don't try to start shit again.
EDIT: Rinfect, you've already been banned once, don't try to start shit again.
why would rating people get her banned?
It was for multiple counts of harassment I believe.
But still, don't even start. This thread is already shit up enough as it is.
Bad news friend, my pc hard drive died and I lost all my stuff so that I may not continue (I write from my laptop)
Sorry man

You haven't seen the whole story.
And seriously, shut it. Nobody wants another argument.
Is there a way to export textures without Ninja Ripper?

Currently the only way is to use that program. There's another method here, but it's pretty programming-heavy.
Welp, it's official, my shitty computer borked another program. It always gives me a blank file no matter what, yet everyone else says it's fine.
Can someone do me a favor and run these bins through the converter? I need to get more info on how the character model system is set up.

http://puu.sh/4tbdm Those police seem to be textures though. These are the other files in there.
[editline]16th September 2013[/editline]
Either that, or they need the Temp
Man, this is really aggravating. The character parts seem to be scattered all over the place and extremely borked. Plus there are over a hundred of them.
Those police seem to be textures though.
You're half right. AS_B_PoliceOfficer.perm.bin contains some sort of model, TS_B_PoliceOfficer.temp.bin contains the textures.
You're half right. AS_B_PoliceOfficer.perm.bin contains some sort of model, TS_B_PoliceOfficer.temp.bin contains the textures.
Possible early model because I checked my Characters.BIG dump and they didn't work there, or maybe the decompresser had not exported them correctly.
Most likely. They seems to be some sort of special models, as they have their own face textures. I assume the generic cops are in the giant pile. If only they were labeled normally...
EDIT: Aha, I got it. All the generic character files are named this way:
A/T = [Model]/Texture
M/F = Male/Female (S = Special)
B/H = Body/Head
IE:
TF_B_001.temp.bin = Texture_Female_Body_001.temp.bin
AS_B_PoliceOfficer.perm.bin = Model_Special_Body_PoliceOfficer.perm.bin
Hopefully this helps in sorting out that giant heap of files.

Well, when I open up Characters.big I get 74 unknown files. Did you get the same amount?
G = Glasses
H = Hat
N = Neck?
P = Pants
S = Shoes
T = Torso
W = Waist

74 yea
Hm. Well, I suppose it's a relief to know that will be constant.
I still need to try to find a way to get this converter to work for me, plus see if I can't find a batch texture converter. I doubt anyone wants to sit down and manually open 100+ files.

model*
we can't convert those textures yet.
[editline]16th September 2013[/editline]
Also, there is a bone mesh in the characters folder for sleeping dogs MaleReferenceSkeleton.Perm.Bin and FemaleReferenceSkeleton.Perm.Bin
[editline]17th September 2013[/editline]
If there was a CMD version of this program I would have a .BAT that would work for converting all of the models to .OBJ from .PERM.BIN
we can't convert those textures yet.
Well technically we can with Texture Finder, but it's a long obnoxious process.
Ekey also made a functional texture extractor to go with his .big decompiler but he abandoned the entire project.
Also, there is a bone mesh in the characters folder for sleeping dogs MaleReferenceSkeleton.Perm.Bin and FemaleReferenceSkeleton.Perm.Bin
I saw that, but I doubt bones will be supported soon. I'll have to ask him.
So I finally got the thing to work.
Apparently this game has nearly a hundred character models, and by gum I'm going to convert every single one. (at least all the ones that are possible at this time)
Here's a preview!

And a download link!
Joe - Way to stick with it!
If I can make a request, the armor pack for wei shen that has the just cause and deus ex armors would be sweet if you can get them. Other then that, I'm looking forward to whatever you get.
