How's this Jacknife?
nah they're p bad.
nah they're p bad.
Okay, I want to understand what makes all of my dedicated work so bad?
Looking at that Support's knee, I have to question whether he actually has bones in that leg or not. :v:
Seriously, I do want to know... Is it the texture quality? Is it the shiny kneepads?, because I fixed that. Is it low poly? Is it that it's not from Ninja Nub??? Is it because because it's not customizable? What is it that makes you not like it!?!?

Really, what I've done is a big improvement from this:

Why do you think my content I've worked for months on end is bad? Is it because "Its not made from Ninja Nub?".

Probably because no bodygroups.
Probably because no bodygroups.
I have bodygroups for their equipment. I don't see what other bodygroups I need to do...
Ninja, you're as always awesome - doing great job to add more variety stuff to Russians.

curl their fingers, bodygroup class parts across all of them, make the weapons and medic bag props, add more heads, and then your russians will be proper

Bad shading (Are they supposed to be covered in oil or something just look at dat phong.), bad smoothing, refusing to add $mostlyopaque, and you seem to honestly really be taking credit from tsaundrl/damiac, all you've done is apply textures (what you didn't even make because they're DICE's in-game textures.) to his models and talk it up like you've done a lot.
Also it's taken you months to do that? I'm sorry but anybody half traversed in the source sdk modding "arts" could do what you've done in probably 20-60 minutes.
bad everything is more like it

You know what, I don't need to improve on tlsaudrl2548's legacy anymore, because of all of the stuff I've dedicated for tlsaudrl2548 and went ahead to continue his work wasn't good enough for you guys. I've talked to him on how I can fix up his work, I've continued and at least tried to expand on his work, he even thanked me for continuing his work. But now it seems all that for him was just a waste of my time. So V3 of his addon ain't coming out because I don't see a reason anymore. I was gonna even include Aftermath variants of the BF3 Russians and a bunch of equipment props. But nope, I don't need to anymore. It was good working for you guys at least when it lasted.
Thank you tlsaudrl2548 for thanking me on improving your addon and giving me advice on it , thank you Crakalo for fixing up the eyes, thank you luxox_18 for the default textures and tutorials, thank you Ninja Nub for giving me advice, even though your work is better than mines. Thank you uradead2020, Rinfect, isaa1, AdriantheShep, Simpleplanz69, Viper123_SWE, Trek, YourBreakfsat, dvaderv2, wraithcat, Stak, GoOR, RustledJimmys and Biscuit-Boy for at least encouraging and supporting me through this.
And I have to at least thank you pvt. jenkins, for at least having some concern for me at the beginning. Unfortunately, I can not continue with this controversy on me...
I'm touched but I don't think this is as nearly as serious as you make it out to be.
What the fuck. Looks like everyone gets butthurted about two guys doing the same ports.
I tell you what: my first models were shit, and I think, that CSLeader did quite a good job on these models, despite his little experience with Source. You know, could do them in few hours, but I had no time and will, so thanks SCLeader for the effort you put in making something you'd like to share with the community, and I hope that you've learned a lot, and had fun, good luck in your future works.
And shame on you guys for mocking him, it's obvious that Ninja will make better models, so there's no need to be an ass about that.
EOD.

BF3 MP7 anyone?

I need to get the MoH:W normal maps. BF3 shared normal maps are kind of dull.
The "Shared" normal maps are used to make the weapons appear to have minor damage all over. In the render of that MP7 they're scaled WAY too big so it makes everything blurry and just terrible.
The weapons go off of smoothing groups not off of normals, thus the lack of actual "baked" normal maps.

Well I went off to make a normal map based off the MP7's exponent map:

How is it?

MP7 normal maps in action:

Just curious if anyone has looked into ripping the other ship models from the game, I do know that the Aircraft Carrier was done, but there's and entire fleet around and whatnot.
I finally took of that tooth enamel off of them:

No, this is luxox_18's MP US Recon model.

Terrible, and using Specular/Exponent(gloss)/Diffuse maps are literally the worst way to go about baking a normal. There's numerous issues going on SPECIFICALLY with that normal map, though, if you REALLY want keep overriding the original aesthetic-
-Lack of fine detail relief (things that a don't show up very strong in a spec/gloss/diffuse map; back of the stock, pistol grip, selector).
-The screws on the front half and sling loops. Again, because they're not well defined in spec/gloss/diffuse maps.
-Shadows as relief. Yyyeah, that's not right. Look under the Fire selector, and the lever in front of that.. those are supposed to be flat surfaces and your map clearly gives them some sort of mound.
I'll concede that some of the stuff on there isn't bad, mostly things where the edge of the geometry is reached on the map, and the vert grip looks alright, but man, you're really fucking with it the wrong way. You'd get similar results out of a cavity map, and really, my advice would be just stick to smoothing groups. If you absolutely MUST have a Normal in your VMT, leave it blank(ie, that purple).

I wasn't aiming for glossiness; it's a gun, not a sports car. I just made it to make indentations on the mp7. Plus the exponent map isn't a black and white map, it's this:

Lol that's the ambient occlusion map, it is black and white because it's only sampled from one or two channels.
Lol that's the ambient occlusion map, it is black and white because it's only sampled from one or two channels.
Then I guess I based my normal map on a ao map? Seems legit.
What's up, guys? Have anybody tried to rip models from Bf4 beta?
