sounds like a semi good idea... though I have some hosting space from a friends hentai board (paid for) so that might be a bit stable and secure then just a free host.

the reason for the alt was because you can't reply to your yourself right after posting. and the reason for needing to double post was because each message you make, has like a 500 character limit and only 10 images per post. so i needed to make a chain of posts to fit the entire tut. ..this was probably a very bad idea

Also I followed your tutorial and tried making my own ragdoll but i get this compiling error:
ERROR: short conversion out of range 37626
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'Model.mdl'

I can't remember what causes that error. it could be something minor like a duplicated bone name.

I was able to configure your model, but I wasn't able to resolve the problem. ??it has me really baffled.
here's what I did;
-Imported your Reference.SMD
-In 3dmax went into Polygon Mode
-Selected the lower half (pelvis and below)
-Exited Polygon Mode (do not de-select your selection), then SAVED as issic.MAX

-Re-Entered Polygon Mode pressed DELETED. Let try to EDIT in SKIN mode to re-initialize the weights
-EXIT SKIN EDIT, the EXPORTED SMD as "reference1.smd" (do not save changes to issic.max)
-Back in max Reload the Issic.max file, FILE > Recent > Issic.max
-Enter Polygon Mode, then at the top app bar EDIT > Select Invert
-Now the other half of the model should be selected, torso, chest, head, arms...etc.
-Then press DELETED.
-Again go in and out of SKIN, so the weights fix themselves.
-Then Export as reference2.smd
-Compile with modified QC
- this for some reason works? doesn't make sense but it works. your model is only 13 000 which is low, and should have worked. ohwell this is a work around till someone else offers an opinion.

Are you sure you don't need a bone for the props? Because my exporter wouldn't work without one and the skin modifer.

could be your exporter, the MDL compilers all work on the same DOS tool.
i'm using CannonFodders, are you using wunderboy's SMD plugs? that may be why. in that case, yes you may need to create 1 bone, add a SKIN modifier to it and add the bone to the skin list. then export

i use wunderboy's smd plugins and I don't have to create bones for props.
hm.. well for the record I'm using wunderboy's MDLstudioGUI or GUIstudioMDL whatever it's called.
..not sure what's causing the crash.
The exporter I was using kept asking for "multimaterials" but this one by wunderboy is wunderbul! (sic on purpose) It doesn't ask for this crazy multi, whatever, and I can start bringing in the Satam Swatbots with it.
Edit: do any and all textures have to be "uv"ed? Or do th texture paths in the model have to match up with the qc file?

Mario. Something is wrong with the tutioral for props. at the part where you do the batch conversion I do what's written and it still turns invisable. The paths are set correctly, but I thing it may have something to do with a set or unset option on the advanced tab.
Edit: Somehow transparent is set to 1.

I'm afraid my "folder" is more like Folders. Let me start on a new prop and I'll get you the files. The Jiggy, Note, Omocfhao prop, and Tails' Car had their vmt's modified manually so the texture would appear. *Goes to grab B-K's Honeycomb*
