Which is not released.

Turn up your textures to High/Very High. One or the other, I can't remember what you need to see $detail.
Nobody can see the smoothing issues on the fingers? And i dont see a point to the blurry low res torso illum map in the op... and the missing illum maps for the helmets in the op. Far from a GREAT port. flame me if you must, i really dont care. just trying to point out a few things, however i dont work in the source engine, so my advice is probably worth nothing. that and the fact that i never post here to begin with. But halo 3 uses env cubemaps, dunno how source handles cubemaps. The illum maps were last minute as I've stated before, and Civil is working on much better ones. You're right, it's not a great port, it's my first. Smoothing issues weren't my fault (afaik, 3ds Max could've messed with a few things and I didn't notice) because the models came directly from the game, if you feel like contributing, go ahead. I've stated in the OP that modifications are encouraged and well beyond welcomed.

Those cubemaps look sexy as fuck.
i set my texture settings to very high,the elite looks exactly the same as before.you should really use the same texture for all settings.

gmod forces me to use 8.1(i have 9.0)

That's probably the issue then, pretty sure $detail only supports DX9+

The model's head(the fleshy parts not the helmet) turns black when you point a lamp at it. Otherwise, nice work.

I am having the same problems as DumbStalker. My Elite's low-textured, & has no lights. Is there a way to fix this without having to type Mat_dxlevel 9 or 9.1 in console? Because that doesn't work for me UPDATE: NEVER MIND IGNORE THIS POST I HAVE FIXED IT.
