Even with 7zip it returns errors when trying to extract.
Everybody uses WinRAR for a reason, you know.
Yep, pretty much everything comes up as an error :ohdear:
Pretty much all that seems to work is the readme, which just tells me all the cool stuff that isn't working
Ok- whilst weirdly enough 7zip came up with errors, i installed the newest free version of winzip and it extracted the file perfectly. Upon adding it to addons, the "Apwninthedark Starship Pack" folder is now in the "browse" tab list of folders. Models work and are awesome.
it worked fine with me first time i don't know why you guys are getting so much problems

The beta version of 7Zip (9.13) extracts the archive successfully for me.
Epic. Amazing job ApwnInTheDark!
Thanks for the compliments guys
It's already done? Wow, that's made my day! If you made a warbird with a bridge you get ultimate praise.

next time, save us all 300 Mb and switch to DXT1/5. After 5 years of texture work for source, I can say from experience that the size vs. compression is not worth the extra bit of quality.
Well seeing as I can't upload due to size, it seems you're right. Its not to late though to reconvert the textures and reupload it to GarrysMod.org, so that's what I'll do when I get the chance.
The seat-distribution is inconsistent and I apologize for that. My opinion of 'ugly' changed throughout the course of this pack and the defiant just drew a short straw.
Also remember that 'The Fallen' (Where I got Defiant's bridge) came out in 2000. Non-geometric objects were particularly nasty back then, and I figured removing them would help conceal it's age.
Any chance of a sovereign without a big hole in the back?
I know its for shuttles but it doesn't really work well if you're making a comic with a space battle in it.
Just weld the upper door into the sockets
As far as all the errors everyone is getting when extracting, YOU NOW HAVE A VIRUS, SUCKERS!
Jk. Achensherd is right. I know for a fact that 7-Zip 9.13, and WinRAR 3.93 Final extract that type of .7z just fine
Great pack, loving it.
I downloaded the NEWEST VERSION of winrar from the site, and it worked!
I guess most peoples winrar is out of date :D

How did I even miss the folders with doors and stuff.
I made a Spawn list for the pack. It no longer appears in the Browse menu but in the Props menu.
Its available here for anyone who is interested, and you can incorporate it into any future variations of the pact if you want.
nice Captn_kirk!
I compressed the textures and finally managed to uploaded the pack onto garrysmod.org. I put your spawnlist in it, and credited you in the file's description and readme.
Thanks for the spawnlist and the permission =)
Lol, thats really annoying, as the file actually wasnt available for download when you removed it.
The file had to be mirrored and noone could DL it, I actually had to find this thread, and download it from filefront, (You may want to include a link to this thread this time :P)

It'll be on my Sandbox server shortly, and I'll actually be starting my SB server up again, details are on www.greenbridgeservers.com
I'll probably start the SB server within the next few days.

Oooh, thats interesting, no more double posts, ever :P
well done apwn :D
thanks Jabba
Das, Its 100% downloadable at garrysmod.org again. Not sure why uploading to that site is like rolling a dice.
Awesome pack. It's just too bad the Enterprise-D doesn't have more of the bridge done like with the E.
I just remembered, I forgot to say its awesome :O.
It is.
<3.
One niggly bit, When looking through the viewscreen of some of the models, sometimes you can see other parts of the interior. Although I guess there'd be no way to easily fix it.
That said, 10/10 awesome, Great work.
that can't be fixed Das haifisch
Hey nice job on everything, when you update this pack could you possibly add bridges to the borg ships? (I am a big borg fan XD)
The .exe looks suspicious doesn't it? Or maybe that's me
I didn't find any .exe file in the pack at all, I don't see an anything Malicious from what I can tell, but I'll scan it just in case.
EDIT: Well I scanned it (with three different anti-malware programs to be exact) and nothing malicious was detected, its perfectly safe for download.
@JasperWB
I would have, but there is no observation lounge or ready room for Enterprise-D in any Star Trek game I've checked. I considered placing Enterprise-E's obs lounge into Ent-D, but but the inside of the shuttlebay would be the only thing anyone could observe lol (Takes up the nearly the entire rear half of the saucer)
@Das Haifisch
Jabba's right. I cant hide those things because models dont allow occluder planes, much less would it let me specify what I want to occlude.
The other option is to reshape the exteriors and remove the ready room, which I tried but decided against because on most ships, the reshaping required made them very deformed looking on the outside.

Yea, we wouldn't want that, I didn't think it would be possible.
Anyway, Great work.
hehe nice pack ive already got a few screen shots done with them that im currently editing!

I would not be opposed to having a completely separate model for the interiors. I know it defeats the purpose in a way, but you ought to consider what people are using these props for. One group uses them for spacebuild, details like a nice bridge are nice, but not needed. The other group that uses them are posers for screenshots, machiminia, and comics, where details and accuracy are of utmost importance. Having ships with giant holes for shuttlecraft and semi-visible geometry are major turn offs. I'd love to use that observation deck more, but as it stands, it has this real unrealistic view of the sovereign out the back, and the hole in the floor really leaves something to be desired. The physics interiors are nice, but the limitations of size compromising are what's really killing you.
Split them up. You can expand on your bridges as separate props, and simplify the bridges in the ships, and leave more room for shuttles. I know you put some work in the excelsior bridge, but the ship just makes it impossible. Might as well split it up so you can capitalize on the work you've done.
Great Job!
Love it! Keep up the awesome job.
I made a picture with your 2009 Enterprise.

cool lol
nice
The only possible addon to this pack that I could suggest, is "Apawns" corridor pack. You remember the corridors from Elite Force and EF2? I know that in radiant the exterior wasn't all that pretty. But perhaps if you cut out sections of the corridor, made the exterior a box....
Then you could have your own star-trek version of Space Build, using corridor pieces from voyager/aborg cube/enterprise, that way people could build their own stations by connecting rooms together via the weld tool.
Just a thought. Kudos on the great pack!
*Edit to the following responce - Thank you Apwn for taking this under consideration!
The kudos is much appreciated.
As for the corridor pack:
I did consider it, but by then, this pack was already 90% done, and I didn't want to delay it any longer.
The way you describe it though is very inspiring though. I'd rip not only hallways and junctions, but things like living quarters, turbolifts, and turbolift shafts - with which skilled wiremodders could easily make a multilevel turbolift system. People could create some pretty luxurious starships with such a pack.
In other words, I share your passion for this idea =D
However, I'm taking it easy on the 3d projects at the moment though. I'm not promising this will ever be a reality, but I'll definitely mention it here if I decide to do it, as well as make a new thread for it.
so whats next awp?
awp i have the next best thing STARGATE SHIP pack like the daedalus and prometheus, oddesy, sunzuit, appollo, teltak, alkesh, hatak and finnely atlantis its self
