Well I don't know about you but I've been patiently lurking in the shadows waiting for Femshep, and I really agree that I don't know what all of you are going to do with these once they're released besides play around with them a bit and do a few poses.

I think i see the point you're trying to make but it's probably only due to the fact it's almost 4am and i'm barely awake too.
People request so much stuff and beg and plead and re-request and post about it constantly then when the models they're asking for finally get released, they never seem to get used. Case in point, the Portal 2 robots. They were requested SO FUCKING MUCH by SO MANY PEOPLE when portal 2 came out, then only 1 person posted any screenshots of it aside from the creator.
For ME ports i think it's things like the scion and femshep in collector armor that are in a similar situation. I've seen them requested a lot, but i guarantee if they were released right now they'd never be posed.
Then again i could just have really skewed definitions of 'used alot' or looking in the wrong places.
Yeah, thank you haha. I think the mentality of requesting models is a very strange one indeed. I mean personally I've been waiting for femsheps fucking hoodie for a month because the protagonist of the comic I've been planning for ages is meant to wear it for the majority, but otherwise I don't know why we all crave models so much. I think sometimes we have ideas in our head that we want to use the model for, but we finally get the model and take the first step towards making the pose and drop it on the spot after losing interest. Who knows, I still feel like I'm barely putting sentences together haha.
Still, I find it especially funny that the models that get used the most are the ones no one requested or even knew existed, like the guy in the trench coat or that weird fallout 3 thing with the mask that were in almost every pose for a week straight.

I dont really like to use main characters in my posing, I mostly use merc/human/casual packs for my posing so I agree for the most part the scion could be useful but I cant really see femshep in collector being used in practical situations.

Depends really - if someone released a model like those Asari models or scions for example, I might not pose them straight away, but they would always be available when/if I felt like posing later.
It's not like they'd be going anywhere!
Entirely true. And one thing about Femshep's Collector armor - or any armor that gives anonymity through a helmet - is that they can be re-purposed to be generic characters.
I've been using the Blood Dragon armors as generic characters in the comic I've been working on for a while now.
Just because its original intent was to be unique, doesn't mean that we all have to use it in a similar fashion.

Damn I know what you mean. I feel like stuff I port gets used once or twice at best. And yeah always seems like, that the model that gets requested the most end up being models that end up being by far the most ignored.

I've been collecting the models, I think I probably said a few pages back.. I have things in mind, but I'm a little crazy, I need to make storyboards and other random shit for the shit I want to make. As well as a detective type story :P I wanted Starkiller to be my detective guy so I might not get to that for a long time. That plus I probably suck at making pictures anyway.
I guess I just need more characters and models first. Not in a rush though.
