If thats the BF3 pistol, then there should be an AO layer in one of the color channels where the normals and specs are...
I don't know how to use the AO.
Copy the layer and paste over your diffuse, then just set the layer type to "overlay" (if you're using PS)

Simkas informed me the character wears a sleeveless hoody and I played around a bit, but I was having issues finding one that looked good so I stuck with the vest.
This is gonna sound fucking crazy, but maybe the L4D2 Hunter's hoodie might work?
I thought about it, but something about the vest just felt right, I don't know. If I do a hoody version too I'll probably use the Hunter one.

Check the color and alpha channels.
