I'm pretty sure the slides on Glock series pistols have always been steel, they're just called plastic because the frame is composite.

Well, the slide is milled from a single block of ordnance-grade steel through the use of a CNC machine, but the way it takes on wear after use points more along the lines of being the same as the polymers I mentioned before.

I'm going to disagree, while it does look [i]different[/i] than the wear on most weapons it still looked like metal to me.

we looking at the same thing here? I see nothing wrong with the smoothing groups, remember unsmoothed is faceted shading.. which is not the case in those screen....
