I would release them, but A. This isn't rendered in source (those older screenshots were though) and B. I finally come to admit that don't know how to recompile with faceposing so I'd actually have to pose the face and eyes in 3DS and compile and the face would just be stuck in one pose.
So basically if someone has a bunch of spare time and wants to help make it happen, I can send them the model with everything attached and they can give a go at compiling it, but yeah, no faceposing whatsoever which renders them more or less useless.

I'd do that too, if the SMD exporter didn't break smoothing groups since it stores them in normals as opposed to the groups themselves.

Just toss me a PM whenever you feel like it. Assuming my schedule permits me, I'll have her fully faceposeable within a week, unless something strange comes up with her.

Most definitely not a normal map. Although a few short seconds of channel splitting gives you a pretty decent base for a diffuse.

EDIT: A normal looks like this in most games now. The RGB holds one channel and the A stores the other.

Besides the diffuse that's the only map weapon models use...
If they're sufficiently high poly, there's a good chance they don't have normals, ala CSGO.

3DS Max renders them like that if the alpha channel is fucked up like that. Nothing wrong with the texture.

You could use the Pulse Cannon from Nuclear Dawn as a base for the BFG. It already looks a lot like it, you might not even have to hack anything onto it.

Looking at the weapons, you don't really need a normal. They're very detailed. You only have to do a flat normal so that you can easily load specs.
