Quick question - does the car mesh have any transparent parts you don't see in the viewport?[/QUOTE] i had no errors in my compile and the car mesh doesnt have any transparent parts. it's all rigged to 1 bone ive used skin in max and even to make sure i assigned it all to a bone with milkshape both versions did this and it also didd this even when i removed all of the bones

That looks like the messes I've gotten when trying to import my models into different programs. That was usually because of some sort of grouping issue that I had where the parts would all collapse onto the axis of the main group/component that they were all part of. Streching, incorrect scaling, texture fuck-ups, and other nonsense happened like that. I just switched to .obj format to solve that though. I'm not sure what you could do to solve that. The only advice I could give would be to check all of your groups and components and if possible collapse them into a single component. That should fix the axis problem by giving everything a single axis. If it doesn't work you have every right to call me a dumbshit.
