Would dirt really get that much on a gun though? It's not like the guy puts his hands on the ground before holding his gun. I just don't see why everythign in video games has to be covered in filth to be considered "realistic" looking. I can understand worn away, but dirt?

Your hands get pretty dirty from shooting. After a day at the range, my fingers are almost black with gunpowder residue.

I made the metal a bit darker, but I think it really needs damage. does anyone have a decent tut for that? I'm really bad at it.

I haven't made a spec map yet. I'm really looking for crit on the texture, not the shaders anyways.
If you're making a specular, try to add most of the details to the specular map. On diffuse, you can keep base colors and that kind of stuff.
Also, don't be crazy on adding shadows and lights to the diffuse.
Use flat diffuse + decent normal map + specular + glossiness (for phong) and you will get a pretty neat effedcts.

Some of the edges are far too hard, like the ones at the top of the phone.
yeah, they won't be really that visible on the normal map, make the edges smoother.
I want to say that would make an awesome sci-fi phone if the actual texture was rendered like that, it looks really cool. If I were you I would save a copy before I make it smoother :P
