Is this still a WIP? Here's a few things that could be improved: - The blank windows make it look boring - The smoke is also painted on part of the frame - Why is the digital sign/display on the front broken, while the rest of the bus is in a pretty good condition? Also some of the edges could be sharper, looks like some plastic toy :P
looking awesome man, you can see the seams a little bit but yeah, good job!
Yeah, I dunno what buses are like in Britain, but down here the windows are fucked and scratched and tagged on, especially near the back.
Yeah, I dunno what buses are like in Britain, but down here the windows are fucked and scratched and tagged on, especially near the back.
That's the universal rule for all buses.
I could make all the changes and everything to the back, but I have to stick to what the client requested, this was made to go in to source so the reason the windows are slightly bland is because they were replaced in the end anyway. [editline]30th June 2012[/editline]
Also some of the edges could be sharper, looks like some plastic toy :P
I've been told that my edges are too sharp in past models, I loosened them up abit for this model and now people think they're not sharp enough. :(
What's it for?
I don't know, I just make whats requested.
Learning more modelling stuff and currently focusing on making source physics/breakable props Not sure if I'm going to finish these as many were tests with half-assed textures, but at least I learned a lot of stuff regarding .qc stuff, AO+normalmap and a little better understanding of phong/spec. Also custom particles on models is always fun.
Dat.... Pizza..
CAS303, all your props are related to food. Thats good though, G-Mod needs more food.
What did you use for the bumps on the McFlurry? I think it's a McFlurry, I've never bought an icecream beverage from McDonald's before.
What did you use for the bumps on the McFlurry? I think it's a McFlurry, I've never bought an icecream beverage from McDonald's before.
I used a subdivided hemisphere and used the paint/push/pull to sculpt the main icecream. Then I made a separate model for the M&Ms and scattered it all over the surface. I then made a lowpoly dome and rendered an AO and a normal map, and hand painted the colour and phong mask: In retrospect I should have had the shadows as a different colour than black and I should have given the scattered M&Ms colour so I didnt have to hand paint it on. But all in all a good learning experience. Also some other normal+AO map bake tests, both of these were done with floating geometry:

Ladies and gentlemen, behold: The most realistic pizza in a video game ever made. It really is very well made. Good job man.
dancing pizza
Combine soldier arms, for a mod im making.

Haha dont worry about it mate, ill move it here, plus new combine elite flavour.
I wish those arms had some tesselation applied or something so the edges weren't so hard on the arms there.
Haha dont worry about it mate, ill move it here, plus new combine elite flavour.
Ohh fuck that's sexy. [editline]3rd July 2012[/editline] Out of curiousity lads, but why is my custom skin making odd speckled glows? If alpha is off it doesn't happen and I'm not sure if changing it to 1 bit alpha will get rid of it but leaving the eye glowing. did I overdo the scratches/chipped paint? [t]http://www.leet.cc/0az_vent_03_6.JPG[/t] oh and it's still a WIP.
I would say fade the shade of red so it looks as old as an object would have to be to have such damage to it and remove the red tint to the metal where the red paint has been removed.
desaturated the red, added some dirt (from the AO map) and a few other tweaks. [t]http://www.leet.cc/0az_vent_03_7.JPG[/t]
That looks so much better, and even before it looked amazing. Great job, dude.
desaturated the red, added some dirt (from the AO map) and a few other tweaks. [t]http://www.leet.cc/0az_vent_03_7.JPG[/t]
Definitely needs some normal mapping though to really sell the effect, looks good otherwise.
Why are you making combine arms where there is already a full set (Minus stunstick and SLAM) available? I've PMed you a link to it.
Definitely needs some normal mapping though to really sell the effect, looks good otherwise.
there's already a normal map. it's just the baked one tho, I might slightly add the chipped paint in the normal, see how it looks
if you had a stronger spec map though it would really bring out the normal maps a ton
why, god damnit why why is that shotgun so sexy
