I see where he's coming from. He wants credit for his work and if he lets the RPers use it that probably won't happen. Also, how is he being like them? He's given credit where it's due as far as I can see.
It doesn't mean that you need to be like them...
If someone is a bitch to you, there's no sense in being kind for him. Same shit with RPers.
I bet that Shotgunguy would give a models to someone who ask kindly and gives a proper credit.

I'm not just asking for my credit though, I'm asking for everyone to be included in the credits, which never happens.

I'm sure everybody does, but he doesn't need to be a douche to people just because some RPers aren't crediting him.

I could ask the same about you and your quest to rescue the nice RPers from the evil lord Shotgunguy.

Rescue? I only asked why he's being rude to people and got the answer. Sure is negative here...
Less talky.. more porty.
I thought I would share this link if it hasn't already. This website contains a whole bunch of fan made models -not by me, at least not anything yet- there are some character models there but it is mostly ship and environment models. If you are after some characters you are in luck somewhat but if you are a ship fan then you are in total luck if you go to this link.
http://www.scifi3d.com/list.asp?intGenreID=10&intCatID=4
I personally am in the process of making character models rather than porting from games, so given time I will make them availible.
Anyway of the shitfest here. Shotgun I hope your work with the RC models is going well.
I'm not going to be working on anything until all of my work for my classes are done. There's only a couple weeks left of this quarter and I need to catch up on a lot of late projects for one of my classes.
Sorry for the delay, I would really love to keep porting those models over, but I just can't do that with the small amount of time I have to do all these projects.

It's going well, it's just tedious work. I just haven't worked on anything for a while due to all the work I need to do for my classes. I'll have a 3 week break in the upcoming weeks, so I'll be able to get things done then.
I know what you mean shotgun. I'm on the same ship with classes and what not. I'm trying to help a user on Moddb named JamyzGenius with his mod for The Force Unleashed 2. -Providing him with custom content-hommade characters- but I've been up to my eyes in school work over the past few weeks. But I should be able to make some stuff in the next couple of weeks when school lets for me.
On another note related to TFU2. There have been a lot of people on this forum talking about the Endor DLC and wondering if it can be ported from. As far I know-because of that unkown .wad- no it isn't. My best bet for the moment is take plenty of screencaps of the DLC characters from the level and the costume pack and then make hommade models to match as much as possible.

JamyzGenius...no....not that guy....he made so many horrible and frame rate ass maps on JKA, my friends couldn't even stand it. He also made badly made reskins like Harry Potter. Example for his JK3 modding

I can see where you are getting at with the JKA stuff but, I'm not to concerned with that so much as I am concerned with TFU or Halo 3 quality models. Because JKA is older it is lower poly and my standards are in the high poly range. Though I will admit that some Jedi Knight models that I have seen on filefront like that Anakin model posted a few pages back are really good. And like I said before, I personally think the picture of the Leia model, that you posted looks pretty good to me. The textures around the hairline look a little bit rough but I think that is the only flaw. The model itself looks like it is about the same quality as TFU or TFU2. I do have ported the textures of Leia that you see in the closing cutscene of TFU 2. I bet if we applied those textures to that model, it would come out just fine. I don't have that Leia model though so I couldn't test this theory sadly. Would really like to though.
As for Han Solo in the DLC I found a Han Solo untextured model on a website called 3D CAD browser, don't know if it is the same model as in the DLC but the poly looks about right.

Right, I have been testing the models myself on JKA, along with the bikini and New hope models. Though I think the textures from TFUII may need resizing....

These look like the textures of Leia from the DLC actually. I can see what you mean by resizing. Those eyelashes are insane. Do you have a page where I can take a look for myself at some of your work? I would like to see what you've done so far.
I'm not to crazy about Gmod because I am not much of a Half-Life user more of TFU and Battlefront user. Oh I forgot to ask you when you replied to the JamyzGenius' TFU2 Mod what your thoughts on it are. What I really like is that he created some new challenges and got the TFU 1 Skins to play on TFU2 because the GTO formatting is the same is was probably as simple as copy-paste.
That mod is still a W.I.P and I know because like I said before, I'm working with him to produce a whole bunch of custom players, including some non-star wars, say Master Chief or Lara Croft for example. I had recently managed to get my hands on a copy of a GTO export script for Autodesk Maya so that is how I am going to do it. And I know it's the right one becuase I checked TFU2 Endor's credits for the website or develloper's name and sure enough it was the same as the download site, Tweak Software.
In the next installment of his mod when released probably at some point over the summer, it's going to have a much wider range of character skins. A lot of them made or ported by me-when I say ported, like from Halo 2 and Halo 3 primarily. As for made, characters created in Poser and exported to 3DS MAX from there to Maya and exported as GTO.

JKA had a texture size limit before the textures were just blurry, the engine is very outdated Id almost compare it to gold source. most people for textures would just apply the canvas texture to their texture making it look fake and flat like the picture above with her collar, another thing with JKA models that make them unappealing is that they mirror their textures for space.

That is just a really really badly done model (usermade) put up on a random 3d site.

I was just using that reference as example of what I had posted earlier. As far as I know there is no decompressor for the Endor DLC's Wad, so for the moment our best bet is to make the models from scratch and texture them to match as much as possible. For the ones that the PC version does have the textures for, by all means use those to texture the model, but as for the ones that don't say Han for instance, either making the textures from scratch or port them from a model from another game.
Wait is that map a SOURCE map ? O-O

Why don't you read the post and find out.
Why don't you read the post and find out.
Yeah i wouldnt have asked if i was sure what he ment.....i have close to no idea what hes talkin bout...only thing im guessin is that the first screen is essentially to show that the map is stolen from someone else
I think making textures from screencaps of the Endor DLC Han Solo model or the Darth Malak model taken from XBox or PS3 gameplay would work. Unpacking those kinds of XBox files I can do. Don't know if becauseof KOTOR models that Darth Malak would really be necessary but I am sure we all want the Han Solo model. As for that player model of the DLC, Jedi Hunter, ehh I'm not to crazy about it. To me it looks like a cross between the Sith Stalker armor and something ripped off from Assassin's Creed.
Fleet could you possible get the Rebel soldiers?
Fleet could you possible get the Rebel soldiers?
which ones? FU1 or 2?
which ones? FU1 or 2?
He was referring to the TFU 2 Rebel models. But as we all know, until someone finds the key that opens up the Console file, only 3 variants out of I think 6 are availible. 2 from the main campaign and 1 from the DLC-I think its the Rebel Geurilla. But like I said above, I plan on taking gameplay screencaps with my computer connected to the console. I'll take those screencaps to make textures, and I will happily make the Endor DLC models from scratch-at least until it is no longer necessary.
which ones? FU1 or 2?
Well the TFU 2 looks alot better than Kota's Militia imo.

The guys out of frame right behind Star Killer, left of Kota are the ones that'd be nice to have.

That is the Rebel Commando model from the main campaign-all of those models can be ported. That one is no problem. :)
It's only the DLC models that are an irritant.
I would still very much love Starkiller at some point :P
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1187184&p=36127529#post36127529 heres the Force unleashed 2 models, the 2 rebels in that picture are included.
these are just "models" btw.
I guess I could rig those TFU models. They look much better than my rebel trooper release.

I think I'll keep the helmets from mine though, they're pretty high quality.
