Yeah well i know this is a bad bump,however i am desperate for help. I am done with the skin and hexing but when i try to open it ingame it crashes my gmod.
Gimp [i]can[/i] open .TGA, but not .VTF
Same for 3DS as far as I know.
I use VTFEdit to open .VTF textures and export to .TGA
To make it a .VTF again, import the .TGA into VTFEdit and save as .VTF
I hope this helps any Gimp and 3DS users out.
nice techniques. but if you're interested in creating ur own crap, skinning almost would be as great as modeling!

Hi Sh4d0w! This is a F*cking nice tutorial. I know I'm replying to a thread, that was made 3 years ago, but I'm having a problem. I'm trying to hexx a HL2 citizen, with destination Humans>Group01>male_01.mdl.
I change the destination and the name in the top, but when you ask us/me to do this:

I dont see the same destination at the top, at the bottom (when it's unedited). This is what I see:

I am wondering how I edit PCmod skins, i have the SVN version. So do i edit the models in that folder or the ones that are from CSS. I am not sure at all :/
Meh, my internet is being a bish and wont let me download VTFLib for Gimp (well, wont let me on the website) gonna restart my laptop and see if that does any good. The site still isnt working for me, It will every once in a while but I cant get to the page to download VTFLib. Any ideas on the issue? Im suspecting firewall settings but Im not sure... all I know is that its getting very frustrating lol!
