I could work on the Flamer (B7) after the SMA, when I get time...
Must say, everyone refers to B7 as a flamer, I personally saw it more as a weapon that made stuff ignite/combust more than a flame thrower. If you watch the clip where Wikus fires it in the lab, you see a lot of flare, but the flare goes upwards far more than a conventional flamethrower, as if it is just the explosion of something launching. Also, you get a real zappy electrical noise, not a whooshy noise of the hot air mixing with the cooler air.
Perhaps it is more of a fireball thrower, something like a gun the fires the explosion of a grenade... lol
As for that being used as projectile launcher, you can see the projectile in the clip, and it looks kinda too big for the gun to fire it... I put that one down to continuity error due to the low budget (for a big title), they will have had to reuse props.
Maybe that's its secondary fire.

How did you make that back cylinder fit so perfectly (The one right by the upper stock)
It's all done poly by poly, I just experimented with the width of the gun, and fitted it in there accordingly.

No. They aren't jaws. They're mandibles. Prawn have two pairs of mandibles and a jaw:

The first quarter or so of the movie is like that, and little docu bits pop in and out through the rest of the film. It works really well to help immerse you into the reality of the film.
