I'd guess that that's because they have the budget of interest, rather than money.
They don't have a deadline.

finally! a group of people who love d-9 so much they want it in gmod :), as a bunch of suggestions u should include some characters from the movie like wikus (main character) quivis (the bald alien killing prick) thomas (fat black mnu gaurd who was with wikus in beggining parts of district 9) christopher johnson (the main prawn) the nigerians, obi sanjaw (nigerian warlord), also u should have the giant mech suit, alien wepon models, the spray cannister. i kno that is a shit ton to ask 4 but if u cant do that all can u pleez make the mech suit and wikus then? btw all of it looks fantastic, i have to say fucking A man! :)

i've been monitoring this thread for a couple of days now and its too epic for words
we can only speculate about roleplay servers running the finished mod
should be one of the best experiences you can have on gmod :D

Well, would be really great if this was a full mod. But, I don't think its possible, making all the buildings. Would probably be even longer than Black Mesa.

the most basic version would have perhaps just the weapons, npcs/playermodels, vehicles, and a map
players could build their own houses using the useful construction props, or have houses already built into the map
i guess it could also have some Sents like the fluid canister/cure?
it would be hard to make this a gamemode though
dont get me wrong, im incredibly happy with the progress :D

I doubt anyone would script a game mode, and it's almost impossible for someone to execute it correctly. What I'm trying to get at is that someone will take the easy way and base it off darkrp or a form of some existing RP.
