Well, after some busy times I finally got round to working on the chopper.
it's smoothed properly now thanks to Cpl. Cookie, now it just needs to be rerigged since its rigging was broken.. also thanks to Cpl. Cookie :P
After that I need to make some gib models, add a pilot to the chopper and it'll be finished.
Will this ever be made into a controllable helicopter as well, similar to Sakarias' Little Bird of Flyboi's Huey?

Yeah, if we get the individual parts, couldn't it be theoretically made, as long as the rotors and the body are independent parts? Because I remember seeing someone show pics of a Black Hawk with separated rotors in Sakarias' release thread, but the next time I saw it was months later, in Taco N' Banana's Terminator RP server. In any case, I'd just want more helicopters in general, on any base.

I'm not even sure if Sakarias is doing any more....

Well, my plan was to release this as a small pack, with one version that replaces the default combine chopper npc, and a version that's compiled as a separate model that anyone who's willing can turn into an snpc.
However, I can also add a version that's made of separate parts so someone can try to make it flyable.
I know nothing about lua so I am not even going to attempt it myself, but anyone is free to give it a try.
I was thinking that this project had the potential of becoming a full-fledged HL2 mod, it would be pretty sweet

Just a suggestion for the mapping aspect of this project.
Make the shacks all model-based, or else you will hit your limitations FAST. Use Propper to turn your brush-based shacks in to individual models, that way you won't have to rely on brushes so much. Models are ALWAYS more optimal.
The only issue with this is that you cannot do much optimization for when you're inside shacks, since only regular brushes can block out rendering. So basically you'll be rendering everything outside any shack you're in, and any junk inside shacks will render even though you aren't inside. But in the end, you will be able to make a larger map. I say make about 20-30 unique standard shack models then mix them up like crazy so you can make it look as unique as possible. Then you can make specific structures with brushes and such, like the gang structures and Christopher's shack.

Destruction's right, give them time. I've seen threads go quiet for weeks or more only for the people working on stuff to suddenly pop in with a major update.
