Basicly its this:
First of all stop bitching about handing the models to anyone!
Try to get m yourself by messing around with the script till your lucky (I was for some parts) or be fucking patient and wait for someone like Aaron to release them whenever they feel like it.
Second:
It's nice everyone would like to see their own fav char (main or side or even npc), let the modders make/get the models they are interested in first. by doing so they will learn more of the scripting and structure of the engine, meaning they can easier get other models extracted from the engine.
Third:
Before going all rage on "OMFG I WANT THIS AND I WANT IT NOW" kinda attitude has half of you even tried getting it?
I'm a complete and utter noob when it comes to this shit, Instead of asking "GIEF MODEL NAOW!" kinda attitude a lot of you have I asked for help on how to extract them myself.
A few of you have been so kind to help me out and teach me the basics what I needed to learn, granted I'm far from mastering this craft but atleast I MADE A START!
If you guys have problems with extracting certain files/models ASK HOW TO !

By doing so you're ridding yourself of the joy of learning a lot of stuff you wouldnt.
For example: I started about 20 years ago with just drawing 15 years ago I learned to 3d model because It looked awesome, and my mentor (great friend of mine) still teaches me awesome stuff to this day.
Because of my attitude...
I'd rather learn how to fix my own car then bring it to the garage ;)
Maybe some of us here should do the same.
Granted asking for help isn't easy, but once you covered the first step trust me it's an amazing ride.

Well, think of this; maybe the people that have been asking nicely--Ninja Nub, for example--don't have the patience/resources/time to learn to port from consoles, or maybe they don't actually own the consoles themselves, so getting the stuff is near impossible.
I'm not nice about this, because when something gets ported around here, source files are thrown up almost immediately, or at least WIP pictures. If the person hasn't planned on working on them/doesn't know how to properly rig them, that is. It gets irritating to see 'shiny toy #1' being played with by someone, and said person waves it around in your face, saying "hey see this this is fucking cool man i really like this this is so sweet"
so when you ask if you can see it, they shit in their hand and smear it in your face.
I don't know, that's my 'two cents'.

i might release the models... but then i remember when i released the MGS1 models after a lot of euntusiasm from everyone and i never saw anyone porting nothing from them... that's why i ceased working on the MPW pack, specially that game was a nightmare... still i dunno how to get the characters unposed, because unposing them each one was a lot of trouble... i only did cecile (cause of tits) and... well i lose motivation... and whatever is up to mariokartn/theend that they green light me releasing this stuff because it was their work to begin with... (im just like ian malcon said: i took what others did and exploited it)
also it couldn't hurt to each one to try, i mean i literally know next to nothing about game retro engineering/modding or hacking... heck i even suck at 3d modeling all I'm good for is to take 3d stuff and make props out of them....

Thing is, it's clear that people actually [I]want[/I] to port these. All of the controversy going on about it should tell you that, especially with how riled up everybody was after being teased the first time (and I'm sure nobody'd like that same thing to happen a second time). As for asking mariokart64n and thistheend for permission, I cannot argue with you on that, if it's what you honestly feel is right. But to come into a request thread, show the models requested and then refuse to go any further is kind of a horrid thing to do. I'm just kindly asking that we not let the progress made be for absolutely nothing.
And before anyone throws the "lern tuh dew et urself" card, keep in mind what DarkKrystal said, not everyone has the time, patience or resources. For now, all half of us has is patience, some more-so than others.
I have absolutely no knowledge on anything even related to coding or scripting, so its impossible for me to do so.
I think folks get that not everyone can do it, but there really isn't any REAL need for a sense of urgency for these models and I would say constantly rushing the guys who are actually taking the time to make these models is just counter-productive.
It's like one fella making an animated series all by themselves that happens to be popular. It takes time and fans constantly saying "HURRY UP WITH NEXT EPISODE" or even going as far as to pester or belittle the individual for taking a while only deters them from wanting to continue. Yes?
