No, how could you miss the huge sign of completely New Engine in Halo Reach? About the balls of plasma. There is no other such thing in Halo that is not a grenade or projectile. Last time I checked every effect from halo is not possible to get hands on that includes everything with plasma in the name.
Indeed. Civil is right. The only 2 halo games that share an engine were Halo 3 and Halo 3: Odst, and even Odst used a more heavily modified version that featured many refinements.
Lolz at the Halo nerds. Nice models though. Definently getting my download.
its the same engine, just (extremely) buffed up with some parts replaced. the bolts could be called balls (of plasma) when you compare them with the other non spherical balls of the world (such as a rugby ball) how would i know if effects cant be ripped? it sounds logical that they can be ripped considering how models and textures can. if im wrong, just put disagrees on me and just leave it ok? its not worth trolling about. (btw, has the anti air wraith been ripped

(btw, has the anti air wraith been ripped
Sir I think it is time to stop posting since you know nothing of the halo games. The effects CAN NOT be ripped. I have talked with the few people that DOES have the ripping tools. CAD made HIS own effects from nothing becuase they also could not get the acual effects from Halo 3. As seen here: Bungie officially said that they made the Halo Reach engine from scratch. That is also why all the people with the ripping tools are trying to figure out the way to make it work for Halo Reach.
(particularly civill)
Maximum trolling.jpg Okay corrected a couple of the above.
Calm down everyone. Is anything happening with these? A high quality Pelican and Phantom would be nice.

My only complaint is they're in FBX format Which I can't seem to import into Blender due to not having found an FBX importer yet.
I was pretty sure Blender supported fbx...sorry about that. I'm sure there is one somewhere.
Starting on the weapons Uploaded with ImageShack.us
there seems to be an anti infantry wraith in the files (also- where halo: odst models ripped also?
Could someone re-format the files & simplify the folder layout so these could be used in GMod?
I was pretty sure Blender supported fbx...sorry about that.
there seems to be an anti infantry wraith in the files (also- where halo: odst models ripped also?
Yes, but they are the same models and the h3 ones, the only difference was like...a weapon or two and the odsts themselves which you all already have.
It can export FBX. :P But after looking around there's an FBX converter I could mess around with.
Awesome, good to know
oh, i was thinking the proportions might be slightly different (things are smaller in halo 3, the best example would be the phantom- it was huge in odst) any elite or odst hands?
Could someone re-format the files & simplify the folder layout so these could be used in GMod?
.....Really have you heard of the modeling requirments you need to open rig then export with a qc file then you have compile set joint constraints then you can finally use it in gmod. in normal terms no you cannot just simplify or change the format.
Nice.
wait are these models for gmod now? or are they for XNAlara? or some other program?
They are for 3ds max. But I assure you my good fellow they will be in gmod someday.
I put this into add-on folder or models folder? Edit: simplify the folder would be nice Damn, should have read the first line
I put this into add-on folder or models folder? Edit: simplify the folder would be nice
These are NOT gmod ready. If you'd read just about any post in this thread you would have noticed that.
These are NOT gmod ready. If you'd read just about any post in this thread you would have noticed that.
ah i see, so they are not in gmod yet well, cant wait, especailly the Elites and flood, someone has already ported halo 3 marines into gmod
Yeah that was me and srgt.shotup that did that.
oh, i was thinking the proportions might be slightly different (things are smaller in halo 3, the best example would be the phantom- it was huge in odst) any elite or odst hands?
I think thats got more to do with the size of the player. The chief was taller than most marines, and in Odst you're the same size as everyone else. Makes a differance that foot or so.
It can export FBX. :P But after looking around there's an FBX converter I could mess around with.
Sadly that does not preserve bones and such (or so I have found) Which means we have to mass-re-rig stuff... and If we do, will have to be the the Valve Biped... (For versatility)
I have one that preserves bones in 3DS max 2009
I think thats got more to do with the size of the player. The chief was taller than most marines, and in Odst you're the same size as everyone else.
i was thinking that the player stayed the same and all the models were up sized to compensate for this
It's easier to take a character model and make it smaller then go and take every model in the game and make it bigger. That would cause size breaks between games and a lot of annoying confusion in the end.
Soooo, how much longer?
I managed to find a texture glitch when I ported in the Civilian car. The wheels are attached to the body of it. D:
