Just took a look at the elephant today to find the entire model was using just one texture. So I applied the right textures to the rest of it and here is the current progress.

Wow nice job! Looks perfect!
Holy fuck it's elephlicious
Indeed it is.
Hell yes it is.
I'd DL it.
That's the idea of this thread: Make a DL I wanted, and to no surprise, so does everyone else.
[editline]12:52PM[/editline]
And it's a part of a complete breakfast.
LOL witty pun.
Hehe, awww, cute. Although the end of it's trunk kinda looks cut off.
I imagine that the image gets cut off there. I think it should be fine in the real Gmod.
Now try placing that in ahhh b3, if that head had AI it would run away from the elephant

Now there's a thought. Trouble is, I don't know how long it's going to take to rig and release the model, considering Glaber's college duties.
So now that I've got a handful of people here, when this model is released, what will you pose with it?
I'd probably pose a scene in one of the counter strike maps.
(YEA! Snow Day!)

Very amusing. By the way, how is it coming along so far?

Hard isn't it? No wonder people always request for characters from their favourite series or HD FPS or whatever instead of requests that have few uses.
The front bones are in place, but the back ones are not.
The front bones are in place, but the back ones are not.
That's a good start. Let's hope the back ones don't give you way too much trouble.
They shouldn't, I've gotten a lot more experience since I rigged Buzz bomber.
Ahh very good news to hear.
Well, some bones have been made, so I guess that leaves finishing the skeleton, rigging the ragdoll so that the joints aren't messy, the collision model, writing the qc, exporting and testing.

Yeah. This takes a long time in most cases as there is sometimes something that goes wrong. Judging from Glaber's experience, I doubt he'll have too much trouble in any of these areas.
I just need to send Grunty in first so that I'm not accused of experimenting on animals.[/joke] It's been a while and I'm rusty.
Ok then. I'll keep note of that release.
I hope this opens up a new wave of animal ragdolls.
yaY! Zoo!
1) add Jeep Seat
2) add thrusters to ears and feet
3) YAY! Flying elephant.
A new wave of animal ragdolls? I sure hope so! There's a lot I want in Gmod, but right now I'll request one at a time. This kind of ragdolling is the big challenge for Source ragdollers everywhere.
Slightly related post. An idea was proposed on the Steam Forums for TF2 to have an elephant as a class:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1173892
If it did get implemented (Which is extremely unlikely) then we would already have an elephant ragdoll, but it would be green and smaller than my desired size.
Minor update regarding the ragdoller: School term has finished for Glaber so he has more time to work on this model.
Newsflash!
Skeleton Grunty's done, so we're back to work on this request!
Yay! Elephant!
Work twards getting the elephant into gmod is going steady. The bones are in places and the verticies have been weighted, I'm now working on blending the weights.

Not that far to go now.
Make sure it isn't undersized like that bear model I saw on gmod.org.

I have an .fbx of the sonic from unleashed, but he isn't tposed and the mesh has errors - do you have a rip of sonic that is somewhat workable? I will rig it etc

Don't worry. I'm in contact with Glaber to make sure it's the correct African size.

EDIT: Not what I requested but it would be a welcome addition. I still prefer the Brawl Sonic though. He can make very funny expressions.
EDIT 2: No need to worry about that anymore bigjb. Lnkx ported Sonic, Tails and Amy from Unleashed!
Flexing update on the elephant taken from the Sonic thread (to keep the discussion separate):
In other news, more work has been done on the Elephant.
