To anyone around! I'm working on an animation project and there are a few things I saw in here I'd really appreciate as they would save me time extracting, compiling, enhancing, then recompiling into source. @Deus ex Nihilo I'd really love to have that enhanced banshee model you enhanced, source format if you've still got it! Plus anything else like that you did here!!! I sent you a PM I think, but just in case that didn't work I posed it on your visitor board as well. I know there are several links here, but none that I saw for the things I'm more interested in and things i don't already have. Any sets would be great, if any of you have Jim raynor marine/not marine in source WITH faceposing, that would be good, really any characters with face posing. Sets would be nice! Really I'm looking for anything I can get! Help is greatly appreciated.
So, I got the mpq extractor and extracted the folders I wanted and then migrated all the textures to the maps folder in 3ds max 2011 32 bit so they would automatically be applied to the .m3 models upon import. When I import .m3 models (characters mainly) there is typically a missing texture or two that are not to be found anywhere, but from what I can tell those are not necessary because the model looks just fine without it. At this point, I heard something about correcting materials? I'm not sure what to do at this point really. My goal is to convert it into source, and I picked up the wall worm plugin which should do this quite well. Any help?
Hi there! I'd love to help you although my knowledge in this only goes to the point of extracting files from Starcraft. A suggestion would be to make a thread for your question in this sub-section of Facepunch, that way most modelers who regularly come here will see your question and thus you a bigger chance of getting help. Is there any way that you could see about getting the Spear of Adun as a 3d model? I managed to export the m3 file, but upon importing it into 3ds max I only get the middle turning part called SMX2_SpearOfAdunUI_0. There are 8 different textures for the model; so I'm guessing I'm missing 7 parts. Do you know how to import them or what I did wrong? It does look like the exported file contains the other parts by looking at it's size, I just have no idea how to import them as well.
If you could show us a screencap of the imported model in max that'd be useful.

Nope. There aren't any. The map editor also just references to this file and like I said; judging from the size of the file, it's to be expected that it's all there and just not importing correctly.

Well, i want extract others models from Heart of the Swarm, but i can't.You can? how? (only i was able to extract models from Wings of Liberty). I appreciate your help.

Hello, i make port from Heroes of the Storm (this game used SC2 source) to Source filmmaker. I have a problem - i want port Chogall, but his animations dont want load in model - 3ds max is crashed. Modmakers from SC2smapster reccomendate me install 3ds max 2011 with SC2 tools, but it's not working. Please, who can, load me this ogre with animations! Hello guys.I want to extract some doodads (prop models) from StarCraft 2 but i do not know how.Can someone tell me the method of extracting from the game and what tools i need?I have experience with such stuff so i will not bother anymore.Please someone to respond. :)
