I hate to ask this, but are there plans to bringing Jimesu's Terran Marines and vehicles models to Steam Workshop? I had the addon properly installed, but they come out in purple textures.

Did you change the info.txt into addon.txt in the starcraft 2 addon folders?

Doesn't seem to have that, I can only find starcraft_2.txt that I found under the starcraft2_bigpack_v3>settings>spawnlist. Couldn't find the info text anywhere. Plus I'm also sure that putting the whole addon in the garrysmod/garrysmod path doesn't seem to work as well.

Unfourtnately no, i've checked multiple spots where it could be.
I even checked for textures but no luck there either, sorry.

It might be a part of the char sets. I tried looking in the editor by trying to view the cutscene where they're used, but apparently HOTS broke that feature. You used to be able to dissect the cutscenes in the editor, at least that's what I'm told.

As for this editor you're talking about i don't have any knowledge about it.
The program that works best and the program that i'm using is called MPQ Edit 64.
(In case you want to look for it yourself, note: You will need to have SCII installed in order to view the files.)
I meant the SC2 map editor, it had something called the previewer. It acted as a model viewer and a cutscene viewer. It was replaced by the cutscene editor in HOTS, and it can't open WOL cutscenes, only some HOTS cutscenes.
Oh, i see. SCII's editor was a bit too complicated for me. I tried some mapping but it didn't go well.

with the editor you can make and new units/structers.
add abilities, edit the model...and lots of stuff.
then you can convert them into 3dsmax
I really could use some help here. I am trying to import Zagara into 3DS Max 2013 using the M3 importer....If I touch none of the settings I get "Error has occurred, program will now close" from Max...If I turn off "Animate Objects" I get "MATIND Not found" and it won't import...if I turn off materials I get something about a "Node" error....I was able to import SC2 WOL stuff.....but nothing from HOTS...
Can anyone help? I know Zagara and other models are already in Gmod thanks to you all, but I'm trying to use these things in UDK.
I wish i could help you althugh i've had no luck myself getting the .M3 importer to work in Blender.
I'd recommend asking Dmlxo, LordOvermind or Ninjanub about it since all three of them have gotten SCII models into Gmod using 3DS Max with the .M3 importer.

Do you have the newest version of the importer actually? I needed to update mine to be able to import most HOTS stuff.

Version 2.2 but all the files say version .35

Apparently, My Blender hates me, I just spent the last hour trying to get the thing to work, and it refuses, gives me the oddest error.

Hmm, I see that someone extracted and put the In Game Battlecruiser models. Is there any way a dropbox can be posted with the Jacksons Revenge Style Battlecruiser, am thinking of doing an actual 'realistic' version of this model so could use the in game as a reference.
Also the one of Valerian Mengsk would be good to model an Admiral or something off of.

Yeah I was referring to the Mercenary one, the one that's used for the Loki model as well. I managed to find the files but I cannot find the texture for it now. I was also looking for the 'Super' Battlecruiser from HoTS but there's no unit file folder in the HoTS data.
Finding the textures can be really tricky. BTW the "super cruiser" is called a Gargant, look for that name instead.

Well, I know that the new Battlecruiser -should- be in the Heart of the Swarm files, but Im not seeing any unit folder in the Assets?
*Ahah!* I never thought to look in the mods folder.
The HotS folders are more compressed, you should be able to just find it in models.
I did manage to find them, but for some reason my blender importer for .m3 wont work on the HoTS stuff, mind you I had to use an older version of Blender to begin with, so am gonna try the one the most recent plugin is build for.
Anyway, I grabbed Valerians armor, and here is the TPose, had to manually pose his fingers. Also ripped off his head, as I figure this could make a good stand alone armor set.

Yes I know it looks like the arms are going through the pauldrons but that's because the skeleton structure I am using has the pauldrons rigged to the shoulders for nice fluid movement.
Looks neat, it's a good start.
