Could you tell me where? Would be curious about that.
Which are you referring to, I've managed to pretty well come across all the files so if you had something specific in mind?
Well, i was mainly searching for NPC`s and portraits modelsand their textures. I tried to export the banshee pilot, for example, but couldn´t find the textures
Which program are you using to import them? generally it's gonna have the name if it has a materials tab. All the textures are in the textures archive, depending it might be in the main or mods folder.
Deus ex Nihilo and I (mainly Deus ex Nihilo) are attempting to make the human kerrigan from the start of hots look like Narud when he shapeshifts to kerrigan as she looked like before the betrayal (fully human) In the Swarm Sc2 mod I managed to find the static portrait which that model has: Its called smx1_narudkerrigan_static, so if someone that knows how to find stuff that blizzard has hidden it would be nice if it was possible to find the facemap which that model uses because its hard to edit the one from the start of the game which blends into zerg hair. Even better if the whole head model could be found.

Yeah took a look around - said model doesn't exist. That said, I remember a retexture of Nova to kerrigan in WOL.
If you tell me where you found the static image or model, my program tells me the name of the textures they need so if it's there to be found, chances are I can find it.

All others have models.
actually the only cutscenes with no models are the char ones. I'll see if I can find that one if it exists, just got back into the city so have to download stuff back onto my main pc. [editline]13th September 2013[/editline] Bucephalus and Loki, side by side. Aka, the Gorgon Class and the Prototype Battlecruiser models. Gonna try and mesh out a 'realistic' version of one of them. The Bucephalus, well it's fricken huge and the Loki just looks badass. As you can tell though from the scaling, the Gorgon Class 'Super Battlecruiser' is supposed to be quite sizable compared to the prototype, the Prototype is longer and more heavily armed than the Hyperion. Guess it's a good thing that Valerian decided to help Jim.
That said, I remember a retexture of Nova to kerrigan in WOL.
Yes, but it was still very far from looking like Kerrigan
Yes, but it was still very far from looking like Kerrigan
looks closer to SC1 kerrigan than the narud one if you ask me.
Considering the hair, yes. But we´re aiming for SC2 Kerry here, like shown in the "betrayal of kerrigan" video, which narud imitates. edit: I also started to work on the banshee pilot, to make her a full model. Because of the matching styles and the reciprocally completing breather systems on the models, i decided to use BL:R´s Artemis pilot legs. [t]http://www.abload.de/img/banshee_artemispis79.jpg[/t][

[t]http://www.abload.de/img/banshee_artemispis79.jpg[/t][
Hmm, well what I'd do with that is cut it off at the belt and then try and match the verts underneath and then the colour patterns. At least that's how I'd do it, might be a bit tricky but if you can pull it off would be cool. It's kinda crappy though that Blizzard likely had full models for each of these units, then just cut em in half for the portraits, woulda made our lives a lot easier if they were full models.
So i put together a quick base to work with, i will ask Civil to give her some sweet shaders [t]http://www.abload.de/img/bansheepilotwip14js8y.jpg[/t]
Looks awesome so far, will the visor be bodygroupable on/off?
you might want to try upping the texture quality on the original body
actually the only cutscenes with no models are the char ones. All others have models.
you're talking about WoL, where the cutscenes were rendered with the game's engine. HotS's cutscenes are all pre-rendered. this is obvious not only from just looking at them, but also from setting the graphics to low while the cutscenes remain unchanged, as opposed to their WoL counterparts.
We have had some problems with trying to open the kerrigandezerged m3 files. Why me and deus ex nihilo have been trying to open that one when there already is a version of it released on the workshop is because I think that if the narudkerrigan model is included the least space taking way of including it would be as a bodygroup of the dezerged kerrigan model. If someone knows a way that works to open that specifc model from the swarm campaign files please check for some untextured head model inside the other one or on the side of it.
Looks awesome so far, will the visor be bodygroupable on/off?
Thanks, yes it will have bodygroups for folded up, folded down and removed, i will also assign it to an own joint to have it movable to every position you´d like with the joint tool and to make it easier for people to animate in SFM.
I put together a barely working gmod version, using the valvebiped skeleton for easier SFM usage I still need to add some detail joints and cover the stitched seam at the back with something. Anyone knows a good pilot-like backpack except for the BLR one? [t]http://www.abload.de/img/bansheepilotwip2btjad.jpg[/t] [t]http://abload.de/img/lt_scifibox_a00060rjoe.jpg[/t]
Any specific type of pilot-ish backpacks we're talking about? [editline]14th September 2013[/editline] With some hacking the backpacks from the Crysis 2 CELL soldiers could work.
Wow, that turned out really well Deus. Looks damned good, trying to think if that idea would work for any other models... Edit!!! Hey Wraith, I was looking through the Space Marine thread and saw a set of Grey Knights with like a bunch of different helmets, the DL link is dead now though. Did you add another or still deadski?
Any specific type of pilot-ish backpacks we're talking about? [editline]14th September 2013[/editline] With some hacking the backpacks from the Crysis 2 CELL soldiers could work.
I tried those, but they look too big. It should be a bit flatter, best would be a parachute backpack, or something. So far, i completed faceposing and finger posing as well as rigging the whole thing on a skeleton built from scratch, just cuz` I also changed the visors bodygroups to be only drawn or hidden now and made it movable via physgun, for a more convenient usage. [t]http://www.abload.de/img/femsheps_quarter00538rsg0.jpg[/t] Also, do any of you know, how to work around this error i get when importing some m3 files with the maxscript? Here i tried importing the dropship interior from: Starcraft II/Campaigns/Swarm.SC2Campaign/Base.SC2Assets/StoryModeSets/Terran/SMX1_DropShipInteriorT1. However, i managed to import the Terran lab from the same sets.
Askith and thou shall receivith!, I don't use 3ds for Imports for that exact reason :P http://www.mediafire.com/download/p1o68sp4llc76di/SMX1_DropShipInteriorT1.fbx Also, once you're done with the Banshee model mind tossing it my way, wouldn't mind messing about with it and fiddling with textures
Nice, what program do you use then? It sounds very useful adn would greatly help out wit porting.
Nice, what program do you use then? It sounds very useful adn would greatly help out wit porting.
I use Ultimate Unwrap 3D, unfortunately there's no free version out there you'd have to buy it.
I put the starcraft 2 hots dropship textures on the starcraft 2 wol armory dropship, the textures from hots are double the resolution or more compared to what was used in the armory. Download: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwJ8bPnq7HT0Ukk1dzBXSnlRdG8/edit?usp=sharing There is a small chance that I forgot something so it might not work the way it does in the image. It also got a optional illumination, if you don't like the illumination remove everything with detail in one of the two vmts.
You have the Dropship, i have it´s owner. Thanks again to [Civil] for the texture work with normals, hair and everything else, damn nice job! [t]http://www.abload.de/img/vault101_alpha_1000510dv2.jpg[/t]
Both of those turned out extremely well nice work gents.
I'm glad that more people are working on SC2 stuff, keep up the good work guys!
