Anyway I'm a little concerned if I'm doing this right, as I'm kinda of a newbie in converting...
BUT! I manage to convert all Textures from .CPEG_PC to .DDS format. I'm going to attempt to get everything into the format for ragdolling and stuff .___.

There's this program people use called 3D Ripper or something to convert models to a format where they can be rigged and compiled for Source. You could try that, but appearently the big problem with SR3 models is that they have trouble being put through such conversion problems on a computer running on Windows 7. Having an XP computer has actually proven to give better luck.

Yeah it certainly does work. The models are really annoying though. Not rigged, and a huge huge number of LOD meshes.

i got problem ... SR3 player model got diffuse texture and UVW map 1, but also bump texture which use different UVW map 2 ... in 3DS Max it is not problem to use more UVWs on one model, but does Source engine support more than one UVW map on one model ?!

I'll give that a shot then :o!
However, what if I retrieve the raw materials such as if I extracted all the files and change their formats to a more "friendly type", would anyone possibly be able to successfully convert them for the source engine and stuff? Or would that be too complicated :suicide:

Hmmm..:tinfoil: There's a different script that's for 3ds max that I have found to be excellent to use to import the gcmesh_pc files. If you want to check it out, I'll give you the link and stuff :v:

If you can hand over the source files for Gat including his face texture, I'll try to get him working.
A while ago I reverse engineered the model format and wrote a crappy exporter, but it never really worked that well.. but this model came out pretty good:

(this literally took me 5 minutes, the exporter already outputs SMD files)
It'll probably only be a ragdoll, since it has all the original bones but I can't be bothered to apply all the valve animations on it :v:
Also it still uses the horrible LOD head, any tips on where to find the good ones would be great.

Checkerboard textures mean that the model can't find the texture files. Standard knowledge, yes, but important to know the details nonetheless. Double check what file name the mdl. file is looking for in regards to the head textures, and make sure the VMT is in the right location and has the proper names for everything.
