Is a skybox model for the titan ruled out? I reckon that having something along those lines would be useful in Valve maps where the skybox isn't as tall as gm_construct

Source Filmmaker doesn't exactly have the best map selection, and maps these days are being released as Gmod workshop items :x
well an SFM user who's not skilled enough to use scenebuilds instead of maps most likely won't have any use for a skyscraper-sized deathmonster, but i'll make the skybox version anyway. i only need to use a simple $scale command anyway

Why do you have them seperate? Shouldn't it be enough to just use one single of them?
using the same piece of UV for multiple faces/parts in a mesh is some of the worst shit an idiot can do
i've learned this from constantly running into models where reskinning one part in the texture changes multiple spots on the model itsef

But it's one of the smartest ways to save time on duplication of work as well as uv space when you're on a schedule and you need to save disk space/etc. If you're smart about what you duplicate and mirror in places that are not on top of each other or need readable text or distinguishing marks, there is absolutely no problem - I'd say that a smart unwrap that uses shared textures is better one that doesn't.

i'll scale the thing down a bit though. i meant to make it bigger than a normal human but the current size is too much. hell it's about as big as my/Nirrti's Space Marines
i modeled the head, shoulder pads and all the pipes and pistons. the rest is Dawn of War stuff with increased polycount and redone UVs. and the hands i got from a Jailbreak Source robot
i'll probably make a skingroup for "dead" eyes
