the smoothing looks completely fine to me. what do you mean?
The spacewolf has normals like this: Take a second look. Every surface is concave unless the entire object itself is smoothed to one group; the one exception being the head since it's just the default with a slightly altered uv. The normals themselves were baked like this is order to correct how awful it would look and to keep the vertex count down. As such you never even notice ingame unless you look pretty closely. Not to mention it would be inverted in source if left as is.
But that's still not smoothing. Those are normals. Two different things.
You can't be serious. Surface normals and smoothing are synonymous. How does mapping vectors to an rgb image somehow separate it?
damn, that's indeed lazy
But that's still not smoothing. Those are normals. Two different things.
it probably means that they have few defined smoothing groups if any at all and the devs decided to compensate for that through normal trickery. otherwise they'd probably look like they're made of smooth foam or rubber the other Space Marine models have proper smoothing and their normal maps are a lot flatter also, Warhound's almost done. getting an in-game pic soon [editline]12th April 2014[/editline] woop
When's all this ridiculously awesome stuff getting released? :O
i'll release the loyalist Titans in one bunch when they're all done i'll have to refine the Warhound's and Warlord's textures and give them masks for $blendtintbybasealpha coloring, after which i'll do the Reaver, which might take some time. the things also need some weapon bodygroups. i'll also have to make sure i get the scale right; right now the Warhound is too small:
So there will be a Titan pack. Fucking excellent. Once you finish those we can all get to work on some ridiculously awesome massive battle scenes. Also, you probably know this, but it seems as if the general rule of thumb in regards to titan scale is "One goes up to the knees of the next in sequence", so the hound goes up to the knees of the Reaver, which goes up to around the knees of the Warlord, which goes up to the knees of the Imperator. That being said, I have no idea how accurate that itself is (I'm going to assume not very), because there are so many differing views. I trust your judgement, though. Make the Emperor proud!
How does the glass on that not shatter from the vibrations? :v:
Presumably some kind of special glass?
heresy-proof glass
heresy-proof glass
Actually it would of been tainted by heresy already..
Presumably some kind of special glass?
In the early star trek they have transparent metal, the US army actually has something similar as a result it isn't as good but still.. sadly the newer film doesn't acknowledged this as the screen at the end of the movie cracks like glass.
Actually it would of been tainted by heresy already..
what? it's a loyalist titan, a holy avatar of the Machine God. where's the heresy?
is it me or are the space marine weapons, slightly off size and position in some cases to the table top stuff.
The tabletop models have severely fucked up proportions so not matching that is a good thing.
The tabletop models have severely fucked up proportions
and how someone could miss that let alone think it looks right is beyond me
~heroic scale~ AKA making midgets
Can't wait for the release of the titans. Joazzz Hopefully if i can get enough warhammer models, and get somebody to make some goddamn rigs for them. I can make a cinematic battle in SFM. WARHAMMER 40k STYLE. Also i wanted to do this to show Games workshop that their fans can do better than the idiots that made Ultramarines the movie. Here is an example of my battle making skills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPwrGx60kHY&hd=1 That video is also part of my SFM series project.
Fascinating... I've got something in the cooker you may like. Just gotta finish the other half.
friend mention this to me recently, but any chance of head hacking a ork head onto a space marine.
Heresy! If you want Orks in power armour, you'd be looking for nobs
friend mention this to me recently, but any chance of head hacking a ork head onto a space marine.
might do that for fun at some point
Heresy! If you want Orks in power armour, you'd be looking for nobs
aren't nobs the orks that basically wear a dreadnought as their chest plate? but i was thinking more of a comical side of things.
aren't nobs the orks that basically wear a dreadnought as their chest plate? but i was thinking more of a comical side of things.
not sure about dreadnoughts, but some Nobz give the nearest klan Mek a hefty amount of teef or loot in exchange for getting a kustom built suit of Mega Armor grafted onto them speaking of which, when i get to the Orks i'll probably have to model some Mega Armor for the Nob at some point
