I don't know if it's smoothing or those fucked up normal maps - imho you'd be better off without them, they make those models look like shit. Unless you manage somehow to make the smoothing groups exatle like they are in the game files, it ain't gonna look good.

I think you might exported the model of the wrong way, did you directly convert it to .smd? if you do this, this is exactly what happen: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/Tf8t5KN.jpg[/IMG] Totally broken, huh? Now, one way i found to keep the smoothing intact is, open whatever the format youre using (probably .obj), rig it and do the changes you want and THEN convert it to .fbx, once exported open it and convert it to .smd Final result: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/ZJZS8Ri.jpg[/IMG] atleast it keeps the original quality and dont screwed it completely
How about you just do it manually by selecting faces and assigning them different smoothing groups? It's tedious but it makes them look better than broken crap

I started uploading the characters, as a said before, the gang faction are the first: Characters: -Professional_Gang -Technician_Gang -Operator_Gang -Enforcer_Gang [URL="https://www.mediafire.com/folder/foq1dj379dle6/Characters"]https://www.mediafire.com/folder/foq1dj379dle6/Characters[/URL] They are rigged, they also include .DAE format too for some reason (i think compatibility with cinematic tools exports, maybe?), i wish i could have exported to .mb for maya users but i dont have it installed (only for now) [editline]22nd February 2015[/editline] frostbite have a special feature which make nigs look like white ppl in-game somehow (*cof* *cof* PROFESSIONAL *cof* *cof*)

Do I miss something here?[/QUOTE] Most of these aren't compiled, from what I remember. There's a couple of things on the workshop, but I think that's all that's been compiled so far. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't really have the time to download and check everything here to verify what is and isn't compiled atm.
I see, that explains the odd file formats( XDM something ) unlike the usual GMA. I'm really digging for the 5 shot snubby .38 revolver with bodygrouping though.

Do I miss something here?[/QUOTE] They are raw models, they are not compiled, you need to compile them to .mdl format and the textures to .vtf bla bla bla You can, or see a tutorial for compile it to Source engine OR wait to someone port it and upload them in the Workshop
Any workshop version or github of this amazing thinks? Ill like to try it in single player...

Because they need Detail Textures to compensate lack of details.
