there's many non ripped models, like the wild hog, the enemies, many scenaries, also think i what those models must be uploaded in the models resource http://www.models-resource.com/ i almost forgot, can you tell me how can i rip character models from CB1?
At the moment there is no way of getting Crash Bandicoot 3 models. The creator of CrashEdit as far as I know has stopped working on the program, but if he was to carry on, it is most likely he would have implemented the feature.
Don't say someone isn't developing a program without actually checking updates on it. The creator has been working really hard to improve Crash 1 model exporting/viewing. Also, nobody knows how Crash 2/3 models work yet, and probably nobody ever will for some time (nobody even dares to touch them). I, and many other people, would be much more grateful if you (or anyone "experienced" enough) helped.

This is an old thread to be honest. I think, because he has made it open source, someone should really take a crack at expanding it, so that does leave potential in future development. So, do you say that he has been working really hard to improve the software as of recent?
Yeah he has been working on it a lot I can tell you, improving Crash 1 support and many more useful stuff (well most of them aren't particularly useful in this thread but you get the idea hehe). But yeah it would also be faster if someone who was good at coding and at decrypting/decompressing stuff would help (unfortunately I'm not very good at either :/).

He has a twitch account, and when I find him (or he finds me, whatever), I sometimes ask him how's the progress going and he responds. Here's what should go out in the next updates though: https://github.com/ughman/CrashEdit/issues/7

Nice to know he is still working and active.
No problem, really liking where this is going (too bad those models were lost though). EDIT: BY THE WAY, is there any way to rip the textures from the Crash PS1 games? (specifically Crash 1) All methods I tried didn't work out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-3QjTsFhPk He says he uses Texmod to do it. By the way, it looks like the guy he said it to was you cause of the same profile pic ahaha. If Crash 1 doesn't work with it then I have no idea.
Haha yeah that's me, and I did try Texmod, but the emulator literally runs at 0.1-0.3 FPS, I tested it on Crash 2 though (I doubt it makes a difference anyway).

Oh wait, I think Texmod only works with DX9 right? I suppose just finding some other plugins that are less successful as Pete's could do the job, may not be as consistent but as long as it shows what you need and is more or less compatible. If not, you could even try it with another PlayStation emulator such as PCSX-R. assuming you are using ePSXe at the moment.
A working texture ripper is in the first page of this thread, lol.
I know this is slightly off topic, but someone should make a program similar to CrashEdit that can extract resources/edit levels from the Ratchet and Clank games
Hey there everyone, god what an incredible then depression thread. This stuff you guys did was absolutely fantastic i can't believe the files got wiped, seemed to be so few content on the web, Funny enough i allways prefered Crash 1s model over his sequal counterparts so currently im tinkering around with crash edit and saving great poses from the key frames. I checked the whole thread and while they were character models i didnt see any coloured? only greyed out? Did anyone get the files? Any way just thought i'll drop buy in this ghost town and pay my respect. I was up all night and now im here reading this thread.
I second that! I got so excited but was saddened when I saw this threads dates of being post. I would LOVE if anyone could get this up and running, who doesn't love crash bandicoot?
I was hoping this would get finished, I have mods in mind using classic Crash Bandicoot models :(
I was hoping this would get finished, I have mods in mind using classic Crash Bandicoot models :(
I lack the time to do any model ripping right now, as I never really got into it as it was the other users who helped contribute in such way. However, it is as simple as applying the UV's and correct colors as textures to complete each ripped model.
Wow I was scared that this thread was dead glad to see it is still active, was there something about porting Crash 1 models or something?
Hey guys! Do you still working on the models? They look so great! Specially the remaked Crash 3 Tiny model. If not could you at least send me the done models, please.
Hey I might make a dead thread alive again https://github.com/warenhuis/Crash-Bandicoot-2-Modelexport I actually had working rips from this, I might release some rips but I really think this is a big step up for model ripping on ps1

I've switched multiple computers since the last update, but might have to restart this back up if it allows vertex color exporting. lol.

Hey guys! This may be a bit out of place, but I've been doing classic versions of the characters using ps2 models, I'm going to release them someday in a pack(20th Anniversary Edition), here the ones already done: I updated some images. http://crasharki.deviantart.com/
I do love Cortex, N.Gin, Tiny and Pinstripe but N Tropy seems a bit too angry and his eyebrows are a little thinner then that I like dingo too but his flamethrower might need a texture change if you want it too look like the original

Well... Nobody is ripping the models anymore?
Well time for another celebration, Crash 2 and 3 models are now fully rip able https://github.com/warenhuis/Crash-Bandicoot-2-Modelexport
