Nobody wants to rerig the models.
Only a two people attempted it, and then gave up.
The models will be too distorted on the HL2 biped, just let the thread die.
Actually I have an idea! Maybe someone could rename their preset animations into the HL2DM ones, like Scout's bat animations into HL2DM crowbar animations, Spy's revolver animations into HL2DM pistol animations, etc.!

I still don't understand. They would have the animations already renamed so how would it not work?
The TF2 models use different bones to the HL2 ones.

We're not saying its stupid, its just Source doesn't work like that. the .mdl's In HL2Dm and the TF2 are completely different from one another in multiple ways, So the Scout's animations would be incomatable with the game.
If You activate some of the TF2 model's Animation's in Gmod, You'll notice that they Don't Run at all Like the animation's they're supposed to have, Since Valve Named the Asigned bones for TF2 with the Same names.
A better Discription for the user's that aren't that familar with Source: It would take an unbeleivably massive amount of time and Effort into converting them to be usable, Especially If The player model's Animation's Were Seprate from the Vanilla Models Skeleton's of HLDM2.

I don't blame you, It Took me months to understand what I know now. But even today Still I Don't have enough to make any Ragdolls.
If I could never figure out how to properly weight map, Its likely I won't have any better luck With the Physic's which is needed to be done afterword...

Bumping.. I've followed this this for a few months now and I can't believe that it would be too hard to rig shit to work with HL2 weapons... Why not just add points to the TF2 models and skip HL2 completely?
Or at least tell me how that idea will curve your spine and keep the country from winning the war

It's already been explained multiple times, the TF2 character rigs are completely different than the HL2 rigs, not to mention size and proportion of the TF2 models compared to HL2. Even if someone did fix the proportions to fit on a HL2 rig, the TF2 characters you know and love will be horribly disfigured.

Yeah I have to agree with him on this... Unless someone has an interest in Decompliling the original TF2 models and re-rigging the original meshes to fit them for the hl2 Skeleton... Please throw this in the Archives and save me the trouble of facepalming...
