Those where the ones I had already seen. They are good models, but too anime-ish for what I'm doing. I'm making it a film, not an anime.

Well here's the thing. I hear that the compiler for these models doesn't like settings too high. Either way I've been working on a body part of today and it's starting to come together well. The other thing is that I'd like someone to grab some images of her for me so I don't have to spend a bunch of time on it myself. Preferably images from multiple angles.
Also I didn't have as much time for this one before but recently as in a few days ago my schedule has been getting more open. I'll try to pump out some results soon. I have done so far is the following.
Prototype hands
Basic/Generic face
Simple body
Each of those will be spliced together at some point and molded into a Haruhi-like form. Still have almost nothing of clothes except a cruddy version of her ribbons.
If I had things my way I might aim somewhere near 5k+ polys but really it's too soon to tell.

That's why I said as good as possible lol. Are you using any of the things that the other users have posted? Like that megaupload link? Anyway, I was trying to find some reference images of Haruhi a while ago. I was having a pretty hard time. I think the best bet would be pictures of girls cosplaying as her: [url]http://www.acparadise.com/acp/[/url]
The compiler should be able to handle a very large polycount I've been told. I don't think you need to go anywhere near 10,000 polygons for the model he wants, and the compilers can handle 10k NO problem.
Lol, my computer would have a hard time containing 10k polys in the editor I think but meh still too soon too say. I've never really completed a full human model that I can think of. This should be good enough for a game etc though. I won't be able to put it in Gmod though.

Hey, if you can make a good looking skin, I can take care of all of the rigging, weight maps, etc.
What about a texture? I'm not the best at it but I should be able to handle something decent. Though I wouldn't mind a redo if it's needed.

Texture is gonna be a toughy. I would personally just borrow some textures from other models and alter them as needed. You could actually use the texture from the existing Haruhi model and edit it a bit as needed.
Alright, so now that my college classes are done with, I've got a bit more time to do whatever. I started working on a skin before I realized that the Valve addon doesn't work with the 7.5 version of XSI Mod Tool lol. I'm downloading 6 right now and will post on my progress while following pkt's.
Good news. I'm actually talking to a team of 3d artists who offered me their services. Their previous work is impressive and they seem to be pretty understanding of my situation. I'm working out the payment details with them right now, but things are looking promising. Hopefully, in the next month or so, I'll be able to share some high-quality skins with you all.
Daz 3d has something along the lines of this, and it can export to .obj.

And so much for the 3d artist group. They wanted to charge outlandish prices for their work. $650 to alter one of the game's skins and make a texture for it. I mean, come on.

s'okay. Honest mistake.
Might not have to do them ourselves anyway. Posted on craigslist and got a half dozen replies the next day. Now we can hopefully go back to focusing on everything else. Finished the script for chapter 1 if anyone would like a preview.
