Should little Knuckles be this small? Aren't the little characters in Generations only like a year younger?
They're supposed to be that small. Don't want to start that size tangent, again. [editline]17th March 2013[/editline] Now with these big models Apoc sent out. RTB should probably update his own Generations Pack.
I don't understand why everyone wants them as big as the Unleashed characters. They look like creepy furry dolls. The smaller size makes a lot more sense.
I don't understand why everyone wants them as big as the Unleashed characters. They look like creepy furry dolls. The smaller size makes a lot more sense.
The Unleashed models were too big in the first place. As we've gone over before, Source uses the Metric system. That means that Sonic should be (and is) 100cm. The Unleashed ones were about 33% larger due to miscalculating. Which makes "big" Knuckles almost the same as "proper" Eggman's height. And that's not right. And if we scaled up Eggman to the same sizing, he'd be taller than the Heavy Weapons Guy, at almost 8 FEET. Which would only make him one foot smaller than Ralph (from Wreck-it Ralph).
I don't understand why everyone wants them as big as the Unleashed characters. They look like creepy furry dolls. The smaller size makes a lot more sense.
Well there's several reasons why. First of all, they look small compared to promotional art and cutscenes but they're are the same height. Second, they're too small to other models, like Apoc's Mario models. Thirdly, I don't know why I put a third. But I'm fine whatever height is in.
It just seems kinda weird having Knuckles be twice the size of little Knuckles. I know the older characters are supposed to be bigger, but it seems kind of ridiculous.
Don't want to start that size tangent, again.
It's kicked off again.
It's kicked off again.
Goddammit.
Welp, I managed to get an IK rig up and running for the classic character models. I'm going to keep messing with it until I think it's good enough, but I finally got it to work! Also, not strictly model related, but I'm realizing how useful more adventure field maps would be. Did there ever happen to be any other map ports that got lost in the bowels of the internet or something? Echidna Shrine on it's own is great, and it just made me think of this.

I had been thinking about ripping the emerald shrine and the other adventure fields. But never got around to it. waaaay to many projects.
Remember how I tried to rig Omega a while back and failed miserably? [t]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576732510404348111/28C4C14FE9844DBF847CC4B8FD441CB8AB63307F/[/t] I got better at it. It's still wip, but hey! I did it all by myself! Baby's first killer robot.
smoving groups need work on the main body.
smoving groups need work on the main body.
I know. I thought that went without saying...
smoving groups need work on the main body.

It's still wip
Looks great Chaofanatic. Hope you plan to release it for the public.
Looks great Chaofanatic. Hope you plan to release it for the public.
Thanks. Smoothing is actually next on the list. Then some more in depth bones and junk. Right now it's just rigged to the bare London Olympics skeleton and stuff. Oh, also. actually mapping something to his "nose" because right now it just sticks the whole arm texture onto it.
Does anyone know how SEGA is able to make conjoined eyes on Sonic? Because from all the ported models, there's a line in between the eyes, as if Sonic has two eyeballs instead of a conjoined eyeball.
I don't know how sega did it but here is tutorial from some russian website (scroll down to post #17): http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=ru&to=en&a=http://forum.sonic-world.ru/topic/19430-%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5-%D0%B2-blender%D0%B5/ tl;dr: pupils and the eye itself is a different meshes.

I don't see any problems which will prevent someone to do this on 06 model to solve eye problem.
Sorry to make a request, ( hope requests don't go overboard), but may anyone be willing to create Source models of these pics? CD Sonic Mecha Sonic Sorry for the big pic. But it's the most decent Mecha Sonic in my opinion
CD Sonic
Why do we need this, while we have Classic Sonic?
Mecha Sonic
Probably, if we can find a custom model of Mecha Sonic.
Mecha Sonic Sorry for the big pic. But it's the most decent Mecha Sonic in my opinion
I remember someone on sonic retro had a mecha sonic model they were looking to get made playable in generations. I don't know what happened to it though.
Why do we need this, while we have Classic Sonic?
CD Sonic eyes curve and looks a bit like the STH3 & K Sonic, as opposed to the classic sonic looking STH2 era in my opinion. But you got a point there. Maybe we don't need the CD Sonic. What about that mix of the classic and modern sonic? Haven't seen anyone do that yet.
What about that mix of the classic and modern sonic? Haven't seen anyone do that yet.
You mean Sonic Adventure era Sonic? BTW, before any of you say Sonic X Sonic, SX Sonic is a mixture of Adventure era Sonic and Classic Sonic.
You mean Sonic Adventure era Sonic? BTW, before any of you say Sonic X Sonic, SX Sonic is a mixture of Adventure era Sonic and Classic Sonic.
No, not the SA or SX Sonic. There was one picture out there with Sonic having the same height ratio and proportions of Classic Sonic, but had the darker blue fur and green eyes of the Modern one. Gee, I think I'm getting too involve in this Sonic thing. Only one thing to cure this...is by playing BF3 and doing the birthday cake troll...
I have an update on the Eggman, rigging is going fine as I'm now been going through the body. Now as a special note, the Eggman is being rigged to a modified version of Breen's skeleton, so hopfully someone may be able to turn him into a Dr. Breen replacement for HL2 once I'm done. also as I continue to rig, I find a few more odd polygons to delete. So once I'm done rigging, the model should be fully cleaned up. Edit: I do believe the Eggman is rigged. repeat, at this time the Eggman is rigged, but not yet in source. Oh. and before anyone asks, it's just the basic rigging at this time. No face posing yet. finger posing will be available upon the first compile, and eye posing will become active on the second.
Thought I'd toss a video I made here. It's an announcement for an upcoming project. Apoc and RTB are my lords and saviors.
The eggman has entered source, at the moment eye posing and face poseing are currently missing, but finger posing is active. Edit: Eye posing coming online. Edit 2 Next up, adding faceposing
Eggman is in source, with faceposing on line at "passable" levels. http://fav.me/d5zvvlw and another picture with faceposing being shown. http://fav.me/d5zvvlk No download yet as adjustments are still needed, such as making the separate glasses model, and getting the alt texture for the glasses active, plus possible addition of the bump maps to the rest of the active textures. and a minor mustache fix.
His left eye in the previous post looks a bit lazy eyed
how does he look with out his mustache and his glasses?
