Anyone here really understand how Sonic Adventure 1 model formats work? Specifically the adventure field props. More specifically the Egg Carrier's adventure field props? I've been able to get the level geometry itself, but I can't find any of the props, like the giant wheel on a stick or Eggman's moving chair thing... Would it just be easier to go in with a printscreen style ripping tool and get it out of the actual areas of the game? I'm really just stuck here and have no idea how to do any of this. None of the documentation is helping either because of the sheer number of SADX tools there are, it also doesn't help that the documentation on Sonic Retro is spotty as something really spotty. I thought this game would be easy to figure out with how every 10 year old ever seems to have hacked their OC's in.
I recommend using DX ripper, nosis, and a plugin for nosis that lets it read the rips so you can convert them for best results. You will have to re-assemble the models though. But This is how I got the Sonic 4 Ep 2 badnik.

I can't guarantee it works on the steam version, but it does work on the game cube version. I should mention, that I still have trouble with transparent model parts, including the textures.
I can't guarantee it works on the steam version, but it does work on the game cube version.
That's even better. I can schlep through it with a controller.
Were you going through the PC version with just the keyboard? The pc version is 360 controller compatible too you know.
Were you going through the PC version with just the keyboard? The pc version is 360 controller compatible too you know.
My steam version has issues with the controller, and if I can just use dolphin and a 100% save off the internet, it makes my life a lot easier.
Speaking of model ripping, I'm currently getting models from Sonic riders Zero Gravity. So far Blaze is pretty much ripped from the game, I'm also working on the boards. Which are easier to port due to the fact that they don't split in two most of the time. Might also try getting Chaos 0 from Sonic adventure 2 Battle from the gamecube version as well.
And while you doing that, I'll be grabbing random objects from SADX and SA2B. Including a better rip of that Gun Truck. (Still missing the SA2 version and Modern generations version.)

Well take your time. In the mean time, the Powerup boxes from generations are coming on line. their glass screen is missing however. Say RTB, do you have a way to rip the transparent parts of models? (First compile looked a bit too small, will include anyway)

In Generations, doesn't it just put the icon physically inside the monitor? And transparency is just a material thing, it doesn't really change if something can be ripped or not, does it?

So far I have the save device from MMX Command Mission missing it's holographic cylinder because DX ripper couldn't grab it.
[t]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/TurboThunder/DT/chaos0render3.png[/t]
Oh god, it's amazing!
Why don't you just use the 3dsmax plugin script things? Oh god, it's amazing!
Is there a way that I can set up the materials so that it uses the textures without the uvmapping? because that's how it's working in the blender's rendering of it.
Why don't you just use the 3dsmax plugin script things?
and what would those be? Remember, the missing models with transparent textures are a result of the ripper, not 3ds max (any version) or blender. So even if I had a plugin for my version of 3DS max, the part would still be missing.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/QCaAIl3.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/t2ZbIiP.jpg[/t] I've got like 60 different props ripped and ported from Unleashed, Colours, and Generations, all with material proxies thanks to RTB. I also doubled the amount of flexes both the Eggmen have and fixed up the fingerposing for all the characters. This is pretty much my final release for some time once it's done.
That's fine. In fact, it looks like you somehow got the screen where I couldn't. Though my monitor pack will be including 2 sizes and a normal shield monitor. how did you get the monitors' screen anyway?
Guys, sorry to ask this but my friend told me there was a Sanic replacement for the Gnome Chompski and i'm trying to find it. Someone know if it was posted here?

Well I got my item box pack up: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=141130914
It was just there when I used the maxscript to export it.
Would this script be compatible with 3ds max 9?
Would this script be compatible with 3ds max 9?
I know it works with 2009, but I'm not sure about just 9. Best thing to do would be to just try it out and see what happens.
ok next question, where can I find it?
ok next question, where can I find it?
Somewhere in the Generations Community Hacking Guide.
ok next question, where can I find it?
With SonicGLVL.
oh?! Cool. that'll be perfect.
[t]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/TurboThunder/DT/chaos0render3.png[/t]
Are you using Sonic Adventure's model or SA2's? (I can't tell for some reason)
Are you using Sonic Adventure's model or SA2's? (I can't tell for some reason)
It's Adventure 2. How can you not tell? They look totally different, shape wise.
