i'm getting an error whenever i try to decompile mdls in crowbar, apparently the vtx file cant be found even though it's right there in the same folder.

nevermind, just saw that it isn't compatible. awesome work though!
Hehe you can just rename .dx11 to .dx90 as a quick hack fix only works for some models :)

Hoping we'll see a raw model pack soon.

same here and hopefully they wont use something that will expire after a week, skydrive is a good choice
Please Lord let them have original rigging and I'll sacrifice my third born...
didn't you read what I wrote about normalmaps?
Oops, sorry, missed that.
Please Lord let them have original rigging and I'll sacrifice my third born...
most of them do
So when I try to pop open the VTFs in VTFedit, it tells me that "File version 7.5 does not match 7.0 to 7.4." is there a modified VTF edit to use or are we converting through command line with SDK tools?
New update, using SFM's VTF2TGA, I got normal maps.

Nonesense, blood for the blood god is a GOOD thing!
Any chance anyone wants to send map props my way, I'd be happy to polish them up for a release ^^

That was the same error I got. Try redownloading VTFEdit and see if that fixes the problem like it did for me.

Open the file with a hex editor and change the "05" from the first line into "04". Then save it and then should work.

I tried doing that but couldn't find the version number.

just use SFM's VTF2TGA, it works on everything
Also hooch's fixed mdl decompiler works, you just need to copy the dx11 and make dx80 and dx90 renames of it, then hex edit the .mdl from IDST4 to IDST, and viola, perfectly decompiled model!
Working on some pilots now...

Also I hope that the full game's textures on "Insane" are a bit more "Insane" than less than 1024x1024. Cause that isn't really pushing the bar nowadays, or even attempting to touch it. Should be around 2048 if not 4096. Stuff still looks nice, but not as nice as it could.
Wow I didn't even have to decompile them.

Needs some shoulder, neck and maybe an extra collision for the torso but they work.

Kind of.

Nice, but they still need the touching up that decompiling and recompiling properly does such as finger posing, face posing, eye posing, etc etc, they abandoned the valve standard for bone naming and whatnot so some of these things won't work right.
Yeah that would make things easier.

Tried that, didn't work for me.
bit interesting that they threw in all these assets for stuff that wasnt even in the beta, its like they wanted people to crack it open and find this awesome stuff
here's some renders of unofficially announced titan weapons
Didn't they mention outright replacing a lot of their map tools, including the compiler? Might be very hard to get them into a form that the Valve engine will even consider talking with.
Was there an article about this or something? I can't find any info on any of their tech
so can we get the raw files for those weapons and mechs?
What file format do you want the guns in?
What file format do you want the guns in?
fbx,dae something that keeps the rigging intact.
k, gimme a few minutes and i'll post a dropbox link.
That sniper rifle looks like rocket-propelled chainsaw launcher.
Actually, I would prefer that over sniper rifle anyway...
two more guns:

I Can't Believe It's Not Nerf Maverick:

I would love some of the Pilots in FBX if you can do that too LZTYBRN
The M1A1 looks like a more practically designed Pulse Rifle from Aliens.

i was thinking that too, shame no one extracted the motion tracker or the rifle from aliens colonial marines so we could compare.
