nobody knows why because you arent providing information. all we know is that you're using a compiler that is failing to compile. you're not telling us what you're using, you're not telling us exactly what happens when you attempt to compile something, and you're expecting us to just magically know what's wrong with your compiler. it's really not that difficult to compile models or rigs if you know what you're doing
Atlas people aren't going to upload their models if they aren't to a standard of quality they're happy with it.
Hello, model guys!
Unfortunately, I'm really slow when working with 3D models and 3D programming, so my ability to pull apart these models is pretty much non-existant.
Is there anyone here who would be willing to convert models of the Atlas, Ogre, 40mm Cannon, and Plasma Railgun into something like an .obj or .3ds format (with textures)? I don't need rigging, high res textures, animations, or anything else like that. All I need are models that I can use to produce orthographic views from so that I can construct a few props and costumes from the game.

For those unaware, a big megapack of titanfall ripped models will be made available at once which If I remember correctly, will also coincide with a sfm theme week also happening when they get released.
Sit tight, they will be released.
I found the problem T_T I believe it's because I have outdated/broken titanfall models, I tried a different compiler but came out with the same results. so much for that, i guess I'll jut have to wait for SFM Titanfall theme week

I've been able to get the .mdls out of Titanfall just fine, the problem is I have no idea how to convert them into something I can use.
If anything, a "Converting Titanfall Models to .OBJ/.3DS for Dummies" would be the most useful thing out there.
If anyone does release the pilot and titan models, weapons for gmod it would be awesome if there was a Titanfall RP to be made

it must have been posted about a thousand times in this very thread that you have to use crowbar to convert them to .smd files then use blender to convert them to obj/3ds

maya, milkshape, blender. I'm certain there's one for lightwave as well and I wouldn't be surprised if there was one for rhino3d too. What kind of esoteric program do you use, that it doesn't have an smd plugin.

excel can even read SMD if you're clever

obj works with other stuff besides 3ds max

No, I use Blender. I'm just familiar with the .3ds format and know how to bend it to my will.

i'd like to see you say this in the middle of a video game production house :v: like it or not, obj and 3ds are industry standard, both for games and movies. smd is useful for some things, but it's not the be-all-end-all format

Well the number one problem for me is that smoothing groups don't transfer when importing SMDs in Blender, which really sucks. Reeallly sucks.
