The resource pack...
It could be uploaded in parts, but I'd rather just upload the full pack itself since it would actually take me more time to have it broken down into separate parts and upload each individual part. However, like I stated before, I can't upload it to Mega since they keep trashing the available download for the resource pack. I don't bother with MediaFire anymore because of every upload I try to put on that site constantly breaking before it even finishes uploading, and Dropbox isn't much of an option for me either.
Is there anywhere else you could upload it?
Is there anywhere else you could upload it?
That's why I was asking others about where I could upload the resource pack to. Outside of Mega, the sites that I know of have limitations of their own and/or have problems when it comes to uploading from my computer.
I don't know, i've never really uploaded anything before.
I think that for the file size that it has, Mega is the best mirror
I think that for the file size that it has, Mega is the best mirror
Which is where the problem that I mentioned before comes into play; Mega keeps removing the download option for the resource pack after I've posted the link. I don't know if it's because someone's reporting the link or not, but the link won't even be active for more than a day or two before I get an email stating that the ability to download the pack has been removed (which I then confirm by checking the link I provided in the thread). And considering both the size of the pack and my upload speed, I'd rather not have to keep spending an entire day just uploading one content pack on a regular basis.
Maybe split it into two parts?
Maybe split it into two parts?
That would take even longer, unfortunately. While my download speed is fairly decent, my upload speed is complete garbage and tends to bottleneck itself when uploading multiple items.
If you'd like, I can download the pack and host the download from my MEGA. I have a lot of space left on it, so I doubt they'll remove it for size reasons.
If you'd like, I can download the pack and host the download from my MEGA. I still have to re-upload the pack since the previous version can't be downloaded anymore, so I'll probably get the link to you some time tomorrow.
Hey, you think you can upload the c_models too? I'd like to give them a try on a Gmod playermodel
Hey, you think you can upload the c_models too? I'd like to give them a try on a Gmod playermodel
I extracted everything but the sounds and maps before making the pack, so the characters should be included as well.
Rama, what are you making into a playermodel?
Rama, what are you making into a playermodel?
I'm mainly helping Lenoax with some stuff that he's making right now, and he told me that if i could get him the c_models from Titanfall, he's going to try applying them to some Pilot and Spectre WiP's.
a shame about them titans not being gmod compatible :(
Well not in their current state. People are working on porting them still as they're quite complex.
Soon. And by soon, I mean "Jesus fucking Christ, hurry the hell up and finish uploading already. I've got shit to do today." :v:
Why are you uploading Titanfall content onto the internet, by the way? Is that not sorta blatent warez?
Why are you uploading Titanfall content onto the internet, by the way? Is that not sorta blatent warez?
If I were uploading the entire game for people to play, then yes, it would be warez. However, I'm only uploading the assets that can be used for GMod/SFM ports (models, textures, and sounds). As far as I'm aware, it's only warez if you're linking to a download for an entire game or piece of software in a functional state that normally requires payment; since this only pertains to the assets that could be used for GMod/SFM ports, this doesn't fall under the lines of being warez.
Why are you uploading Titanfall content onto the internet, by the way? Is that not sorta blatent warez?
Wouldn't it be Warez if he was uploading the whole playable game? Katra's only uploading the assets from the game, but not a way to play it for free
It's still someone's work... for free. I mean, yeah, it isn't by the book warez, but being that basically anyone can use the game assets now, that weren't exactly marked for free distribution, it's kind of a shitty thing to do.
The same could be said of any game's assets that were ripped and ported over the past couple of years on FacePunch, but it's basically an unspoken rule not to make money off of other's people's work, especially if it was a game company's assets. I've yet to hear of an issue arise from someone sharing a game's assets over FacePunch.
How is it a shitty thing to do? People don't take credit for making the models, we just use them. It's not like anyone is losing anything.

Companies like Bohemia, clarify when they don't want theyr content ported to other engines (althought they endend up changing theyr minds...), and when they don't say anything, you have all kinds of control on what to do with the content/assets in terms of modelling and porting without recieving a demand or a legal strike.
It's fine imo as long as it's not put up for $$ anyway stop making drama please
so there's a possibility for the titans being in gmod in the future? THANK GOD! suddenly there's a light at the end of the tunnel for me. i was afraid the titans would be one of those things that would only be compatible for SFM for one reason or another and leave us gmodders behind (i have SFM installed - but really, i've been with GMod all my life. i don't want to change that now. besides, i dont know how to use SFM and gmod is easier to understand)

Yes, it is someone's work, but the developing company doesn't have any qualms with people porting the content from their game into something else as long as there's no profit being made off of the derivative works. The worst I'm doing is putting a password on the archive (which I have provided a few times throughout the thread and even passed over to huntingrifle when I sent them the link earlier so that they could host the resource pack elsewhere), and that's only to prevent people from just randomly dropping the files into GMod with the expectations that they'll work right off the bat when they still need to be re-worked. The only problem(s) have mainly involved some rigging and/or texturing issues as far as I'm aware.
Mind if i sticky that image in the OP Katra?
Go for it. I actually had to nab that off of the porting whitelist over at GameBanana for clarification on their stance regarding ports.
