Source 2?
no, the game still runs on Source 1, it's just all the shaders n such have been heavily modified
but today they said the technical test won't be for computer since a lot still needs to be done to make sure the game runs on low spec pcs and because WE might dig up something they don't want to reveal yet, guess we'll just have to wait for the games release
Was that Blisk at 0:15?
so they have confirmed the tech test for this weekend and next weekend, anyone happen to know anything about digging into the code of Xbox one or PS4?

if someone has a modded ps4/xbox thhey could get the asset files that would be helpful.

Honestly going to laugh if it still gets datamined even with it not being on PC.
Hi :D Ok still not finished but it is coming along :D Trying to recreate the Teaser trailer in my Hometown :D

Wait, Titanfall 2 is going to be console exclusive?
No, the tech test is. Beta and full game is for PC and next-gen consoles.
Sadly it's not going to be possible to take the files off of the PS4. As there is no way to grab the files off of the PS4. On that version. Yet...

Also, because the single player story has some wonderful secrets that we really want to preserve for launch, we also have to worry about leaks. Our wonderfully curious PC players have proven in the past that they will dig out anything they can, and there's a risk that they could spoil some of our single player.

Dam sorry guys they are scared ill reverse the game asset files haha my bad my bad
Hi :D So I had some fun with the Titanfall 1 models, did my best to recreate a frame from the Live action trailer, here is what that looked like, if you are interested in it :D

The original Titanfall ran on the Source Engine. Is Titanfall 2 running on the same engine or has it been moved to something like Frostbite?
On Titanfall we started with the Source engine; we replaced the renderer, we replaced the audio system, we replaced the net code. What we have now is very different from that. We have stuck with the Titanfall engine, but we did a lot of rendering improvements. We have physically based rendering, we have this really cool texture streaming system we wrote, HDR, bloom, depth of field. Hopefully you can see the results of all that hard work we put in that the game looks really different.
Glad that makes the job easier, especially for animations.

Titanfall 1 models once extracted and batch processed had no trouble being loaded into maya via the sfm valvetools, using that in conjunction with my own REVtools (revtools will export large frame animations perfectly) for extracting the smd/dmx animations from mayas interface they were fairly easy to recompile completely intact.
I mean, all I did was batch decompile the models from the TitanFall version, then batch recompile with some qc tweaks through the Garry's Mod StudioMDL using Crowbar and everything worked fine.

different strokes for different folks
I hope we will be able to extract the Titanfall 2 models the same way we were able to extract Titanfall 1 models, I had a lot of fun with them in Cinema 4D :D Anyone need Atlas, Stryder and the Militia Pilot fully rigged in C4D? I can upload them if they are needed....
iv already pre-ordered the deluxe edition of the game for PC and origin is telling me that we will be able to download (but not play) titanfall 2 on the 25th. we might be able to get the assets early

Origin pre-load is already available, it's a 27gb download that unpacks into 37gb and apparently VPK tools for the first game still work

I haven't had a look at the TF2 vpks yet, but theoretically speaking the new ones should be very similar to the previous 3. in regards to releasing them, I guess I can TRY to do something. I stoped work on them due to lack of motivation and not being able to test them properly, sorry :\. although I did get a new computer a few days ago, I'm still in the progress of transferring all my files.

Might as well finish the models for completions sake before TF2 officially releases if that's possible.
As soon as someone is able to, can we get a resource pack similar to TF1's pack?
so Titanfall 2 finally downloaded and I decided to go have a look at some of the assets but when I went to recompile one, it would appear that all TF2 models use model version 53 which there are no decompilers for. so we aint gonna get anything done until we get a decompilers that supports model version 53 :\

The structure of T2s vpk compared to T1s leads me to believe the preload is missing content
Also revtools should be able to open them, it had no problem with T1 models after some hexing.

VPKs have a lot of missing vtf's and vmt's. A lot of assets are placed in archives from Titanfall2\r2\paks\Win64. As if respawn put minimum files in VPKs and hid everything else in those packs.
Edit: Also there no vvd's nor .vtx, I doubt your tools would be able to process single mdl files.
