The Facepunch Model Ports and Hacks Thread V5 - NEVER GONNA BE A REQUEST THREAD

what the fuck are you talking about? this is a game from 2009. has nothing of the sort.
the way demon's souls works is that its normals are all procedurally generated. that line you're seeing is a smoothing split. gotta have one there. the blade on the inside should be present, too. i think my old port of that very sword is somewhere on the dark souls thread. take a look at that and compare.
The blade on the inside is already present. What do you mean by a smoothing split?

and it's got a picture? 38 pages and i haven't seen it.

basically means just put the four sides of the blade at different smoothing groups. all it means.
The blade has a bump line going over it, I do not know why it's not being shown.
I was primarly asking help to get the blade color to look closer to the original.

colored spec probably, which doesn't work in Source.

Oh that? It already has that.

Like Fredrika said, colored specular does work in source, and while the specular maps of this game are colored, I do not know if they used it, it's a game from 2009 after all.
Oh that? It already has that.
it has the edge? is it the wrong shader then? or you gotta try a different map or location where the map lighting allows this edge to be visible.
I think you should play with phongvalues. Also i think it would be more useful if inner and outer blade meshes had separate vmt's
The pre-existing GMod-era model rips from Duke Nukem Forever are horrible Ninja Ripper-spawned creations that aren't on the proper axis, which makes them a pain in the butt to use. I decided to see if I could do better despite a general lack of talent for this sort of thing, because I might want to use some of this stuff for a thing, and if I have to swear at something I'd rather it be myself.
Results were mixed. Weapons turned out decently!

Characters did not. Course, it probably didn't help that I deliberately picked an abandoned model not used in the final version, which meant textures are a crapshoot that I had to pull together from various different folders...

shiny pennies. and... it casually renders too dark. i gotta fux with filmic next.

Noesis has plugin for unpack packages and export models.
Well the smoothing on the sword is only noticed with an opaque texture. Should I try colored spec?
Hey guys, I am trying to port the Tower Knight boss and weapons from Demon's Souls into Skyrim. I have the models and textures ready. It's just that the textures need to be touched up a little to look like they do in-game in Demon's Souls.
here are some pictures: https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOP53ygf2wo5d6LYJ4Mikk9oBb-r91a4D5lnde4

Oh yeah, I am also going to do Dragonslayer Armour/Iron Dragonslayer armor set and weapons from Dark Souls III and port them into Skyrim.
I'll also need some help touching up those textures to make them look like they do in DKS III.
A pic of the model with unaltered textures:

I know this isn't a request thread, but i am still wondering if someone that specializes or knows how to port armors and weapons into Skyrim can still help me port these models.
Thanks, in advance!

Hey man, sorry to butt into your guys' conversation, but I was wondering if you could assemble the Fluted Knight (with knight's shield and long sword) and Dark Silver (with shield) sets for me as either .obj or .3ds. I am looking to convert those into armor sets for Skyrim. My apologies, again, but I have been looking quite a long time for someone that could extract Demon's Souls files for me. I would do it myself, but I have no idea how other than getting a jailbroken PS3 and copying the files to my PC.
Thanks, in advance!
NOTE: I also want from however helps me with this to also show me how to touch up textures/integrate them into Skyrim, so that I can do this stuff myself in the future.
Noesis has plugin for unpack packages and export models.
This is what I'm using. It's nice keeping the rigging on everything.
EDIT: Here's what I've done so far:

This is my first time using envmap masks, and honestly, the results in-engine are a little lacking. I'm sure I'm missing something. On the other hand, I'm using assets from a famously-bad game released during the Xbox 360 era, so I can't exactly expect Doom 2016-quality here...

When I finish assembling stuff, I will post them up for everyone to use.

Tried colored spec on the DS stuff, any thoughts?

Colored specular actually fixed it. Thanks everyone for your input.
You nailed it, looks really good.

Scout poopers use detail normals, but the death trooper didnt need any since his normal maps where pretty detailed

why repost? no 'reaction' in the star wars thread. you need it?
do you have an attitude problem?
do you have an attitude problem?
no. i was just observing this. maybe you have it? tryna make me feel lower then you? :hammered:
Joazzz is very much correct in assuming you have an attitude problem. There's no need for you to be a pompous ass.
lets not derail another thread because the problem you started in the halo thread ended.
I'd be pretty disappointed if this turned into the Halo thread.
the scout shot looks good tho. ;)
nuff posted. all good words.
i'm outta this. if you derail this, you do it. not me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
