Got some goodie for the guys using C4D. I've been rigging the new X-Wing model to animate it using Xpresso controllers. It's been quite a challenge to figure out how to retract the landing gear in a "realistic" way, as there was no actual room for the components to fit inside the landing gear cages, especially on the wings ones... but after editing the cages geometry a bit I managed to make it look credible :)
The zip includes .tx textures and Arnold 5 materials. Enjoy!

That's awesome! That was supposed to be my next project, this will help tremendously!!!
Is there any chance you'd be willing to throw that C4D Venator up as well? I'd love to compare it side by side with what I'm doing wrong in Max.
And when I exported some of the textures, I noticed that they weren't working. Do I have to convert them with a certain program or how do I make them work properly so I can use them? :D
I got stuck on this, too. I think they use a type of compression that isn't commonly supported by programs that work with DDS files. You can convert them using Noesis (scroll down to find the latest version)
cSonora recommended just converting them to DDS again, which I think is really smart. They'll still be compressed and the resulting file will work in whatever program you have that supports DDS. Even my ancient copy of Photoshop could load the result.
I had the same problem. It happened to me because I was using a PNG texture, which combines the transparency with the color. It's effectively like premultiplied alpha even though the file format stores the alpha as discrete data? I don't know. Luckily there's a quick fix in Blender. Just select your normal texture node and in the Properties panel on the right, you can uncheck the "Use Alpha" option. Your normal map should immediately look better.
Perfect, thank you! It's awesome that blender can open the dds files, but yep, I too save them as a PNG so I can flip them in Photoshop, so that's good to know. Definitely looks better now!
I'm using him for the storyboard/shot list for a shortfilm I'm working on finishing up using Yoda. I have some stormtroopers and vader lined up to come shoot the scene, but want to nail down the shots ahead of time. And I just couldn't have him look bad in the storyboards... lol, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist at times.
Also, how did you handle the couple of missing parts on the normal maps? I found the metal tips on his mask, and the inside of the vent were both incorrectly mapped (with black holes in the texture).
:edit: And that reply came in while I was replying, good to know that if I use Noesis to convert to .dds that photoshop can open them. That way they can stay in that format, great tip!

I don't think that I'm seeing this problem. Have you disabled the alpha channel on the helmet's normal map also?
---
About DDS, I should correct myself. It looks like Noesis saves DDS without compression, so the files will be the same size as BMP or TIFF. DDS is normally used with lossy compression. If you make edits to a DDS and save it again as DDS, make sure that you use a color format that isn't compressed or the image quality could deteriorate. Avoid DXTn or BCn.

There you go. It includes model + materials, but I didn't attached textures to make the zip lighter. You can relink your textures easily using the arnold texture manager though.

Thanks, you rock!!
Is there any tools that can extract the current version of Battlefront 2?
I was just curious, but has anyone extracted any of these models (and their textures) from Star Wars Galaxies and/or knows where I could download the models? I always like the Star Wars Galaxies models because they're lower in poly count but still look pretty great. Though I'd be fine with anything of a similar quality, SWG or not.
These ones I've been desperately seeking for quite some time now...

Has anyone fixed the T-70 X-Wing mesh yet? Currently the wings are still attached and in the wrong part of the ship.

It looks neat with normal maps.

Rancor22 already uploaded a version with the wings in the right position -> http://www.mediafire.com/file/44mq6hh13dt1anv/X-Wing+%28Poe+Dameron%29.rar
You just need to move BB8's head an their optical sensors glass, which is inside the cockpit. Moving the wings to attack position is another story, but can be done with a little of patience:

Hey there guys! Is someone able to get a Ewok model out of Battlefront 2? Or could tell me how to rip it? :D
@Angel K
First of all, those renders are gorgeous as hell! So I got two questions. Could you please share the Millenium falcon, because I was looking for one with the proper radar dish for such a long time? Second, which render exactly do you use and is it expensive? :)
so who has the inferno squad files and can i have them :3
Anyone got a working TIE Silencer and Raider Corvette model from BFII? The ones linked here don't work at all. :rolleyes:

yes i got file. But right now i have no time to continue with them. You see, so many new things appeared
@Angel K.
Any possibility to get the emissive map for the Tie Silencer?

Awesome renders! I love the V-Ray frame buffer's glare, glint & bloom post effects, I hope Arnold integrates something similar on future releases. Great work on the Falcon's radar dish. For the N-1 I like a more metallic look though:

You changed the greeblies on the back, right? ;) Did you do the modifications yourself or did you get them from somewhere else? Sry for asking so many questions, but I'm also trying to get the falcon as perfect as possible for a project of mine
I've just made a new wrapper for SWBF2 scrtipt to work with full game. As soon as someone who has the game (and not only few files like I do) will test it, it will be published here.
After that, everyone will be able to use my model/texture/sounds/facefixing tools as before.
To fix faces which were not in beta, I need their files.
