Yes, the transparency information for those models is stored in the color map alpha channel. If you are using PNG or TGA textures, that could be the problem, as unlike TIF or DDS, those formats doesn't have a separate channel for the alpha. If that's your case you can use Noesis/Photoshop to extract the transparency information to a single file.

[IMG_thumb]https://i.imgur.com/UID95jm.png[/IMG_thumb] Notice that the center of the "X" is right in the middle of the ship, whereas yours seems to have the pivot point right at the side of the fuselage.

@ChrisGFX I've given ARNOLD a try once or twice but for the time being I'm sticking to Maya's NVIDIA mental ray. It's a test because I'm still figuring out lighting a scene properly when the imported model already has lights on it. And for everyone else I positioned the ships based on one the SWBF2 (Classic) space maps.

I'm having trouble with the textures for the MC80 hangar floor. I understand that I likely will need to layer this texture with something else, but the texture is using a naming convention that I can't quite figure out: [b]t_floorhangarmc80_01_a_m[/b]. I thought it was just the metallic, but it's not just hte blue channel that is used - all three are: [IMG]https://i.imgur.com/OsLEN5J.jpg[/IMG] Can you help me ID what's going on here?
