Has anyone pulled the material overlays that apply to clone troopers as they get dusty/dirty?
Here is the Hoth Planetary Ion Cannon from SWBF 2015. I did not rip this model so I can't offer any details on who originally ripped it from the game or if the complete model is there or if all the textures are there. As far as I can tell it looks complete to me. I hope it meets your needs: SWBF_2015_Hoth_Planetary_Ion_Cannon
Well I sometime back mentioned a software called Lightwave 3D. I've officially knuckled down and switched to it at least for space scenes. It's as if this software was built with space battles in mind.
FYI this is not the SWBF2 Star Destroyer. It came from Foundation 3D - which is geared towards lightwave users.
The reason I'm choosing this one over the SWBF2 one is simple that file is a GB, the model presented below was only about 34 MBs.

Has anybody ripped the models from Force Arena Solo update yet?
Yeah, that's Fractalsponge's (Ansel Hsaio's) ISD, converted to Lightwave by Fabio, it's getting a bit old now and was stolen by Lucasarts and used in the Force Unleashed. Ansel has recently completed a much better model. I'm a Lightwaver too FleetAdmiral: ArtStation
Seriously? Just go to two pages back and scroll down. Star Wars Model Links Thread .V3
I haven't received any email notifications in about a week and a half so of course I missed it.
@Warhammer_81
Wow i thought it wasn't possible to rip games form the cache, happy you found a way to!
That is how everyone is getting models from Galaxy of Heroes, Force Arena, Uprising, and many more. They are all Unity based games which download files to a cache which can then be used to extract the game's assets. If the game or app is not Unity based it may not be possible to extract the assets.
Well it perfect (i usually dont like the mobile games except for uprising, all other games have interesting assets and characters)
If anybody has time can they extract the audio from uprising such as speech?
I thought this model looked familiar after playing Force Unleashed. I’d started playing around with LW after recommendation from some of guys on spacebattles.com and have been won over to it. If it supports FBX and it does then I can use it as the vast majority of the models I have (including the ones from here, Steam Workshop and the XNALara community) have been converted to FBX.
Do lightwave renders always look that awesome or do you have to install a seperate render engine to get it to look your renders?
Yes someone did! I don't remember who ripped it but here is the SWBFII (2017) HCVw A9 turbo tank: SWBF2_2017_HCVw_A9_turbo_tank

Lightwave's Render engine does look that good by default. The only reason this render below has a checker watermark on it is because I'm currently running on the demo but I hope to have the full version which is about $700 (which is a write-off for me) within the week.

The render is way too small. I can't see anything to convince me of the quality. I mean, some sort of advanced lighting and bouncing. Render quality always depends on the model detail anyway.
Ye ol' resurgent class with some super low cycles. Every modern render engine does that these days, thankfully.

Yeah the Demo version of Lightwave only allows for 640x480. But as I said. I hope to have the full version within the next week. But wheras Lightwave's high quality render comes with the software according to my sources, with MAYA or 3DS MAX, besides ARNOLD renderer which I in all honesty never got to work, you have to get them and plug them in, such as Mental Ray or VRay or Iray (God many rays).
Oh yes, I switched to LW because of Babylon5 back in 1997 )
Another thing I picked up on with LW right away was that when I imported models it automatically loaded the textures and materials, something I always had to do manually in MAYA.
Manually loading the materials every time was frustrating.
thank you so musch. It's really nice.
Neat render. It's not yours tho, right? I wouldn't call this render a good demo. It looks pretty gamey imo. Artist thing. Whatever.
Not mine.
Yes. That was controversial at the time.
Jeez as if them stealing a recycling and reskinning the Free Radical Battlefront 3 models for use in Force Unleashed and Kinect Star Wars wasn't enough.
Asset recyclng? Ugh. For the heck of BattleIIFronting i'd just just repaint free radical's obi wan too, as much as i possibly. Is face scanning expensive?
@Warhammer_81 Just curious, when you said you have to "assemble" the meshes what do you mean?, are they in several parts?
Lightwave's default render engine has always been one of it's strong points. I tend to use Octane render more these days, LW2018 has an updated render engine and new PBR surfaces type but it takes some getting used to.
You did a good job with that render AndyM1969. Huh, should've put that two and two together but still great work. The fact that LW has Photorealistic renderers built in. With MAYA I had to manually plug-in Mental Ray and later ARNOLD.
If you're going to get Lightwave soon mate you should look at Octane render, there will be a free version soon for those with two or less Nvidia GPU's
I bare that in mind. One of the first Lightwave users I ever followed I'm also connected with on Facebook, Matt Schuette from spacebattles.com.
LucasArts owned the rights to those assets. It wasn't stealing.
