Wailord was added years ago already...
This is its X/Y model now, compared to the PokéPark one from earlier. Higher poly, more expressions, better textures overall (well, in my opinion).
I think his point is that you guys should be prioritizing the pokemon that don't already have models ported. I agree, but I also believe I already conceded that you guys are free to do whatever you want, you're porting them, not us.

He mainly just wanted to port Wartortle and Wailmer, but felt it would make more sense to get replacements for their other evolutions from X/Y so that there wouldn't be an inconsistency between those and the existing PokéPark ports.
Oh yea, that makes sense.
OT: Any of you guys having issues with the Agree/Disagree/Funny ect... icons? Whenever I click them, it takes me back to the front page.
My problem with the XY Models, is the textures. I like the PP Wii and Dex Pro ones more, as the XY Models are a bit too pale.

I'm not having any issues like that, and I just tested all of the icons.

You could always try editing the textures yourself until they suit your palette.
Will be the improved Gardevoir model in the next update with it's mega evolution? I just want to know.
Will be the improved Gardevoir model in the next update with it's mega evolution? I just want to know.
The next update from Apoc Hedgie, yes. I sent him the models for it a while ago, all he needs to do is prepare it for Garry's Mod.
I've been thinking about it for a while now, would it be possible for the models to have a bodygroup set for each eyes instead of one set for both? It doesn't have to be done though, i just felt like asking.

I probably won't be doing so for my PokéPark models unless there's enough demand for it -- I'm probably not going to update those packs anymore since the X/Y packs give me everything to work with and not just a handful of things.
I know this is kinda big change of topic, but...
I'm sure we all know who kitty0706 is. He made great gmod videos like Team Flatulence 2 and Mass Defect. Well, unfortunately... He recently lost the battle against leukemia.. One of the hundreds of people inspired by him to make videos and play these games made a beautiful tribute video for him.

R.I.P. Kitty
Aw man... I know it's off topic but i gotta say, that guy did some really good stuff...
Eh, poor Kitty...
Well, it seems Pikachu got himself a new job.

and it's going well (i think...)! Even without events, that map is creepy...
crossovers are fun

Now I see Pac Man on Ash's shirt thing.
Hello, long time lurker, first time poster here.
I'm a huge fan of the work you guys have done on porting Pokémon into G-mod so far. Most of the one-hundred and thirty-six hours I've spent in-game so far have been messing around with them. In fact, it's what motivated my decision to grab hold of the game in the first place. I was over the moon when I heard that we could import the 3DS Pokémon models into the game, opening things up to allow potentially every Pokémon to available to use. Well, until Game Freak add another hundred or so in Gen VII. But that's neither here nor there.
Now, while I love the variety on offer at the moment, many of my favorite Pokémon haven't been ported over yet. While the easiest thing to do would be to ask for someone more skilled than me to port them over, that doesn't seem like a very fair thing to do, since you're doing this in your free time, and all. As somebody once said "Nothing good in life ever comes by sitting around waiting for it." So I've decided to try and learn how to port models over myself. Especially considering I have no shortage of free time myself.
I've already familiarized myself with Blender somewhat (I've got the 3DSmax trial, but it's far too large and intimidating for me), and I've taken a look at MarioKart64's excellent ragdoll tutorial. But there's still a lot of things I'm not sure on. Such as how to trim the amount of bones in a model if it has too many, how to flex-paint effectively, and HOW DO BODYGROUPS WORK OH GOD
So, if anyone would be willing to help me learn, that would be really appreciated. As someone who's loved Pokémon since Red & Blue were released in the UK (okay, a bit after that), I'd love to help make the dream of having all the Pokémon in G-Mod a reality.
I'm pretty sure everyone in the business of porting models is self-taught. It's definitely not for everyone. Trust me, I once tried making a simple card model in blender and porting to MMD, but it didn't work at all, even though it logically should have.
Your best bet at this point would to be to try to find more tutorials and other referential documentation.
I'll keep an eye out for anything like that, then. Although if anyone has any links they could throw me, that would help too. Ragdoll documentation seems rather hard to find.
I think I understand most of the process, at least. It's just a matter of learning how to do it properly.
If it's any consolation, I've been using gmod for over 4 years now and I still kind of suck at posing, regardless of how much effort I put in. Sometimes I can manage it, sometimes not. Most of the stuff I know is either self-taught or criticism I've actually managed to be able to use(which is exceptionally rare it seems)
Please understand that self-taught doesn't mean that you can't have an idea on where to look for constructive, positive improvements. There are bound to be materials around to get you started and going instead of relying on fiddling around.
I've always been more of a learn-by-doing sort of guy. I've picked up on a few tricks here and there, but the parts I still struggle with are things I kind of have to work out on my own without proper guidance. We're getting off-topic here though.
BTW, zp92, where did you get that version of Ash from anyway?
I don't know how or why these things happen.
BTW, zp92, where did you get that version of Ash from anyway?
A friend of mine, UniLuario ported him from MMD, unfortunately the model needs a bit work. It gets loaded into sfm at a very small size and you have to use the scale tool to scale Ash so he's the right size. Also sliders for expressions and other movements are all in jumbled letters so you have to guess and remember what each one does. Other then that it's a great model. If you want to go through that, then I can note you the model for you to use :)
Actually I was thinking of using him in gmod, I guess I'll just stick with the MMD version of the model (which I already found on bowlroll) for now if the scale is wrong...
Maybe this will liven up the thread.

I've been working on finding all the pokemon models in ORAS. It's been quite a pain, the models and textures are in separate containers (models are .pc, textures are .pt). Once I get everything extracted down into its .bch form I'll upload a pack of all of them. So people can start porting ORAS megas and stuff! I'll report back later with more progress. I can try to get some of you specific models if wanted, just let me know.

You mean like I already have done ages ago (and shared the files for on The VG Resource)? Besides, the only working exporter that gets ORAS models with the rigging intact is my own, and it's incredibly broken because BCH is a very convoluted model format.
Oh sorry :/ Didn't realize.
Sorry, folks. Been screwing around with the models again.

I know that a newer model of Blaziken is out there, but I used the older PokéPark model for this for a number of reasons, the main one being its more vibrant colors.
Damn sides... I laughed harder than I should have.
