Damn sides... I laughed harder than I should have.
Personally I was too busy being bewildered to laugh.
Now i don't see Blaziken the way i used to. :v:
Well, it IS a kickin' chicken.
Allow me to show you all my excellent ability to fix computers by saying for nearly a year now my PC has not been working for a "mysterious" reason. Then just yesterday I was messing with it and forgot to put the graphics card back in and that busted piece of junk ended up being the issue the whole time. Are you proud of me yet? Here's where it gets worse. I accidentally left my phone in the computer so when I needed a ride this morning, I was fucked and walked home for a half hour and realized my house key was on my desk. I'm such a success at life.
Aaaaanyway, now that my PC's back, can someone please tell me what skins to mod? Please? ; - ; i miss making shiny skins
I'd ask if you could port Roserade, but iirc you said you didn't know how to port models yet, so... ;_;
Also I think I had a PC issue like that once, only it was the sound card.
Yeah, I'd love to port Roserade for ya, but... Yeah.... But if I did, I'd probably also add a special vine whip bodygroup with thorns with RTB's permission. (Wait, he ported Snivy right? or was it Apoc?)
I'll need Treevis (or was it Treevus.... i can't remember...) to help me in a crash course for porting again. I'll be able to do more simplistic pokemon (Roggenrola I did, Kabuto would be possible, Togepi, etc) due to inexperience. Hopefully the secret SFM sound project I'm working on, as well as any skin requests, might suffice for now.
Also, I found out the graphics card is fine. It just required too much power from the PC, too much for it to handle.
Any progress or is Apoc currently really busy at the time? Any plans for future release? It's really long time ago since the last update...
Does the X&Y Charmander looks better than the PokéPark version? And the same for Kirlia? Will be Mega Lopunny, Roserade and Milotic be ported soon? Just asking.
The 3DS models are all much higher quality than the Pokepark ones.
The 3DS models are all much higher quality than the Pokepark ones.
Of course, that's subjective. People can argue that the PokéPark textures were better because they had baked-on shading, but I feel the Pokémon X/Y ones are better if only for the fact that they're clean / lossless (no blocky compression like the PokéPark textures have). The polygon count on the other hand is a massive improvement in X/Y, at around 5-10 times more polygons per model compared to the PokéPark or Battle Revolution/Stadium models.
...Oh, and for anyone else wanting to port Pokémon models (using the ones I've plunked on The Models Resource), for consistency's sake the scale Apoc and I have been using for our models is 42.5%.
Yea, other people have ported pokemon models too you know, not just RTB and Apoc. The more the merrier and the faster we can get more models, right?
I wish I could port models too, but I can't remember how, don't have the time, and my PC hates gmod without my now fried graphics card. I wanna help out so bad though ; - ;
Does anyone know why the colours are really bland for the XY models in-game, yet vibrant outside of it?
BTW, is there any way to rip the Pokédex 3D pro models/skins? They have very nice textures.
Does anyone know why the colours are really bland for the XY models in-game, yet vibrant outside of it?
Difference in shaders I'm guessing.
yes the cel shader is displaying the same color values as on the textures along with a soft highlight
It's probably also because the game engine isn't as powerful as Source engine, not to mention the lighting in general works differently.
that's a combination of the shader and how materials are configured
i mean yeah you probably couldn't chuck HDR on top of that too but i don't know why you'd want to do that in the first place
It's kinda weird to see this thread still alive in spite of the relatively low activity it's been having.
Regardless, has there been any progress on figuring the trainer clothing .BCH data out?
It's kinda weird to see this thread still alive in spite of the relatively low activity it's been having.
Well the low activity is due to the slow rate of releases. It helps get to the post limit slower anyway. It'll probably take a year or so until there needs to be a new thread at this rate.

What's the post limit again? 50 pages?
if you think this topic has low activity, you should see the sonic topic.
Well, this thread could use an update on what's been available in the last few months or so. Lucian made some new packs, but they don't appear to have been added to the OP. Of what I noticed, we're missing:
Lucian's Pokemon X And Y Pack:

Unova Dragons:

Hope this helps update things.
I knew about Lucian's, but not Unova Dragons.
I thought of something people might like! I'm currently working on making some extra skins for Charizard, Lucario, Greninja, Mewtwo, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and their evolutions and mega evolutions for their Super Smash Bros Melee, Brawl, M, and 4 alt colors. I'll also be doing shiny "fixes" for some (like Tauros, who now looks like snot and booger instead of lemon lime like before), and classic shinies (like for Charizard). On top of that, old/classic colors for some pokemon's non-shinies as well (brown and blue sneasel, purple ivysaur, etc).
On top of that, I'll be doing any "shinies" for those hoax shinies (like the slightly different shade of green chespin and green froakie pre-release), beta shinies (Skrelp and Gogoat), and beta colors (wynaut, excadrill).
And to top it all off, I'll be making Shadow skins (as in Shadow Lugia style) for some legendaries, and clone skins if possible. After all, we have Mewtwo so... We need them.
Anyone know why the Unova Dragons pack have no shadows and why they're so low poly? They look like they're ripped from XY, yet the PPWii models look better.
In other news, I've been polishing my playermodel proportioning skills further (going off CaptainBigButt's impressive work) by tackling Trainer playermodels.
This outburst was partially inspired by how frankly god damn horrifying the existing May playermodel on the Workshop is:

I don't mean to disrespect the creator, but this can obviously be done much, much better with some effort.
I've attempted something like this in the past, which resulted in a stringy spaghetti mess of strewn vertexes and bones which was several times worse than that.
Now that I actually know what I'm doing, I gave myself 15 minutes and came up with this:

Obviously, it's far, FAR from perfect. All of the issues are localized on the arms because fuck you I'm ValveBiped and I will not show mercy when it comes to arm rigs, but it's a start.
For comparison, here it is weighed against G-Man and RTB's port:

If anyone's interested in this, let me know and I'll try to finish it up and put it on the Workshop by the end of the week tops.
That's not RTB's port, RTB doesn't rig playermodels, only the ragdolls and props and model rips that he and other people port to source engine and MMD, and probably other things. This person did the playermodel in question http://steamcommunity.com/id/Sophie-bear/myworkshopfiles/?appid=4000
I'm well aware of that, never said that he did.
Regardless I'm putting this on hold until I can fix how fiddly the fingers and the elbows are.
Oh I see, I misunderstood what you meant when you said you compared it to RTB's port. For some odd reason I thought you were comparing the playermodels. It hadn't occurred to me that you'd need more than one person to do that and I can't just assume you could get someone to help you with that.
I managed to port the Sycamore model from the modelers resource site to sfm, but I have a question,
how do you change the skin types and groups so he can use the rest of his other eye expressions like the May model does?

$basetexturetransform usually does the job for that.
Well, i hope that pay for mods thing won't be for Gmod because as much as i wouldn't want to, i'll quit if it happens.
