can you port these Pokemon to GMOD
. . . Feraligatr . . . Mareep . . .
These two have already been ported to GMod. And actually, Mareep's been ported twice.
Roggenrola's been ported too, but I don't think it's shown up in the Steam Workshop recently. I think Treevis had it in a set of his own with a few others before.

It's not that hard to google "roggenrola gmod" (no quotes)...
Edit: Someone found a few of Brewster's models including roggenrola too https://garrysmods.org/download/38924/model-pack-1zip
What are you importing? You mean downloading it?
No, I mean importing the game.
when will the x/y models come out for sfm?
when will the x/y models come out for sfm?
You can just take the GMod versions and put them in SFM.
Granted, they won't have any SFM-specific enhancements, but that's not that important.
Alright, I don't mean to ask a question that has been answered before and a task that I have done myself, but I have blanked out on how to do the whole "Edit Normals to weld the seams together" aspect on the X/Y/OR/AS models.
Does anyone know or remember how to do this step in its fullest? I know I've done it before, but I've kinda forgotten how to properly do it, due to being out of practice. I'm probably missing a step, so it hopefully shouldn't be too hard to fix.
Here is what I'm referring to, for those who aren't aware:

I've been meaning to port Smogonbir-er... Talonflame for my Pokemon pack, but this is the only thing halting it from getting updated. I've asked a few friends among Steam who have done it before, but they can't seem to explain the process. I'd ask RandomTBush if he could help, but I'd prefer to not have to wait several months to get a simple task done. :v:
Any help would REALLY be appreciated! I'm using 3DS Max 2010, for those wondering.

i don't have garrys mod.

I'm pretty sure the workshop pages have download links in the description.
Bad rigging maybe. See if you can check the weights for those bones.
Is there anyone here eventually working on a Seviper model? We've had Zangoose for a while, but no Seviper yet. Or if there is one laying around somewhere I'd love to have it.
Just wondering, if someone were to design some nice megas for some of these models, would we be able to have someone edit the model of the pokemon to have said mega model?
Er.. You mean new mega forms? Because that'd probably require a LOT of extra work.
There are already models of the existing ones, they just need to be ported.
I actually meant, like, a mega for a pokemon that has no mega, like Flygon for example.
I kinda have a model concept sheet for one that I think would look really good and still look like a dragon-like bug. I'd make the model myself but I haven't taken classes yet so I literally don't even know how to make even a cube lol
You'll probably have to do that yourself. It would likely require additional modeling and I don't think anyone here who knows how to do that sort of thing has time to spare to do it for you, especially not for free.
in Celebration of Celebi's release for the 20th anniversary, I made a little video using Celebi.

Seems like only yesterday I made the GS ball texture hack in Brawl.

Wee! More Pokemon!
I really appreciate you keeping this thread alive, great work!
Well, it's always nice to see other people learning how this stuff works and taking initiative.
I have to say, while Pokemon X/Y models are certainly a little more advanced than the ones from PokePark, the weird shading they use just looks awful outside of those games. It's hard shading that suggests a front highlight at all times if the Pokemon were just standing still. So when they're in more dynamic poses in other lighting sets, the coloration looks kinda bad.
It got to the point where I altered the textures of three or so Pokemon to make them look better overall. This is Lucario, Braixen and Dragonite together. First with the original textures, then with the altered ones.

I suppose it's my nitpicking for being somewhat bothered by this, but it clearly makes a difference...
Also, I would do like to know on how you alter those textures to make them look better. Maybe perhaps I can utilize those alterations you made to make all the current Pokemon XYORAS models look even better.
Well, my method involves the 32-Bit Photoshop with a VTF compatibility add-on, along with Source Film Maker. I mostly go through the body-labeled VTF files and look for where the most obvious darker shades are found. Then, with SFM's Model Viewer open, I touch up the dark areas and refresh the model view to see what areas are affected.

[thumb]http://orig11.deviantart.net/9c55/f/2016/070/5/f/teddyum2_by_malamiteltd-d9uqr6q.png[/thumb]
Because most of the body VTF's appear to be reflected in the middle I just work on one side and, when finished, later copy the altered side and flip it horizontally onto the unaltered side.
It's a rather meticulous procedure of course, which is why I've only done it for about three or four Pokemon.
And I guess considering the pictures I added with this description, that total is up by one.
CS2 is an 11 year old piece of software, it's not 64-bit. You could experiment with a lot of lightwrap textures you can find online. An XY-esque one would probably have a single solid-color greyband as a blend dark and light area but IMO this style always looks bad without precisely controlling the model because you get a thin mid-band in one area of the model and a giant band of color somewhere else.
I see. I do have Photoshop CS2, but I think it is a 64-bit, so I can't use that VTF Plugin you described.
Well, when I installed CS4 it had the option to install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. I don't know if CS2 had the same option.
Well the only other method is to keep porting the files back and forth with VTFedit...Which is WAY more work.
Is there a way to rip the Pokédex 3D Pro Models? They seem to have better textures.
Is there a way to rip the Pokédex 3D Pro Models? They seem to have better textures.
Unfortunately, not currently. They've encrypted all of the model files, so unless there's an iOS emulator that can run it, it's currently impossible to get at them.
Wasn't there a 3ds version of the pro edition of the pokedex?
Wasn't there a 3ds version of the pro edition of the pokedex?
Same deal, pretty much. Although if Citra can emulate that, it might be possible to extract the models and textures from memory dumps.

I'd have to figure out how to do that too. there have been certain models I've been wanting from Power Rangers Super Megaforce. the game may not have been all that good, but at least ic can provide decent gmod fodder.
I hate to be that guy, but what about Pokkén?
Also encrypted.
