Why is it's claws purple?
Because its oldest sprite says so:

(They haven't been purple since the 3rd gen games, but you know how some folks can be about change...)
I like the colour and made grey textures to use as well later. Also been experimenting with a light - dark - light lightwarp on the material for further lighting effects:

While taking a break from horribly failing at making a Gigalith skin with glowing crystals that look like energy is frozen solid on them, i discovered something.

Why would you even post that here? Let alone at all?
...I don't even. Just... why?
Cancer-inducing and irrelevant post.
And this is relevant to the thread...how, exactly?

Testing bodygroups and shiny textures. (Geez, that drawn-on shadow doesn't work at all.)
Aren't you supposed to leave the shadows to the game engine?
I'm only asking because I have no idea how it works.

I believe the "drawn-on shadow" refers to the eyes; the eyelids are closed in that screencap.
Speaking of, that "shadow" could be a little more gradual; solid blue doesn't look all that good for it.
It's just a leftover for when I was using the model with hard shadows and cel-shading. Some degree of painting on shadows (and baking ambient occlusion) is useful for enhancing the look of real-time graphics but not that much.

With drawn on shadows, I've noticed they have to be very light and blended in. You can't put them anywhere you want, though. For zangoose, only a tiny bit of the eyes and some of the paw could work.
Btw, people, I believe my asshole of a friend, Andy, typed that post the other day, as I have no idea what app or whatever does that and he knows just about as much about this thread as I do, so I apologize.
Yeah, softened those up and color corrected slightly to fit with the AO on the rest of the maps.

I've noticed there are no happy or sad eyes.
I've noticed there are no happy or sad eyes.
Indeed. On the other hand, I've noticed the eyes suggest it's able to "look right" and "look left."

Come to think of it, don't the already existing ragdolls lack that ability?
Come to think of it, don't the already existing ragdolls lack that ability?
That's right; usually their eyes use the same textures for each size, mirrored between each other.
Odds are since Zangoose's face has a pattern going across one side, the opportunity was taken to make the eyes act differently since the left and right sides of the face aren't exactly the same.

I think Porygon-Z and Magnemite have it too.
I think Porygon-Z and Magnemite have it too.
I don't think Porygon-Z could do it. Also, doesn't Magnemite only have one eye?
Having one eye would be a good reason to make it be able to look both ways with it's eye...
Having one eye would be a good reason to make it be able to look both ways with it's eye...
I realize that, but that's not the point. The issue (thr "looking left and right" thing) stems mainly from the Pokemon with two eyes (or more), and it just seemed odd to bring up a Pokemon with only one eye.
I can't imagine it would be difficult to manipulate such a simple texture in such a manner...
I noticed "Ditto" was in the request list. Any one got an update on him?
Be interesting to see how he turns out, will he be only pose-able in certain parts or his whole body be like jelly.
Or a prop...
Or a prop...
Heh. A prop with jiggle-bones, maybe.

Would that not make it a ragdoll?
Besides, how could you give an amorphous blob a skeletal structure? Just doesn't make sense...

I dont recall who but someone made...what was it "Tufu" model that was all..jiggly
I can only see Ditto and pokemon like that being in SFM, since they have such an amorphous shape. Besides, being in SFM allows them to have more bones to animate (funny how they have bones but they're blobs).
Wait, are the old models being updated for new Gmod's limits and SFM? I'd like to have a Ninetales without most of it's tails glued together..
If I may, I'd like to request the following unrequested Pokemon: Diglett, Dugtrio, Hoppip, Jumpuff, Lotad, and Wingull.
Will it be ok if I make an item request? Namely a simple reskin of the pokeball to the GS ball if there's time.

I could do that and send it! Let me get on that after i give my dog his meds and get some sleep.
When I'm done, I'll try sending it to RTB, and possibly even an item ball (pokeball, but with a couple latches instead of the button. It only holds items in-games. This is just how I see them)
