Everyone says it's an oversimplified idea, with very poor execution. If giving my opinion is bashing, then I don't know what actual flaming is.

There is only one thing you should do to this map. Take a look at it. It looks like shit. Take a moment to think, how could i improve this? Here is a few hints. 1. Detail it. A platform should consist of 5, big, blocky brushes. Border it, even it. Chamfer it. 2. Raise the god damn texture scale. No matter it's repeating when you haven't changed the scale of it. instead of 0.25 use 0.5 for example. 3. Brushes should never clip. EVER. 4. Spend time on it.
I'm not going to do any more work on this, I'll take your hints and use them with new projects (current one, gm_greenhouses)

But right now I'm making big and detailed city map and it has good layout done, so it will be released.
anyway, we're geting side tracked, only post if you want to say something about the map. no ego bashing.
Post some new content then, We already agreed it was bad. Give us something new to comment.

So you are saying "if a map was made earlier in someones mapping career, but it is bad, then it is better than good maps made by experienced people" Thats just stupid And the fact that all of his are WIP. As he said, he gets bored. It takes me 20 minutes to compile a semi-detailed map with lighting and hdr. You really need to optimise

You really need to optimise[/QUOTE] Compile time also really depends on computer hardware. Maybe he's computer is shit? But still, more than 1 hour on such a map must mean bad/no optimizing.
my first version wasn't optimised at all, and my computer is low avarage specs, can run the games but not the best. optimizing was one of the skills i learnt.
Maybe you should create an Antlion cave map with unique nodes that make Antlions fly and run around everywhere. That would be cool. Also including flat nesting areas for eggs and melons with hive props inside, and deep trenches that kill ppl and npc's when they reach somewhere down low. That would be cool.
