Still blocky and no light sources, lighting is slightly better too, and you've made a good attempt. Improvement, I like to see it. :) But now it's a wee bit too bright.
Don't try to make a 100% accurate reproduction, the source engine can handle more than the orriginal game so instead a lot of big silver metal boxes, Try adding red, yellow, or green boxes too. Don't be scared to make your own labels and signs just because they wern't in the game. Look at what the BlackMesaSource team did. Atleast 50% of the room and materials in their recreated maps wasn't even in the orriginal. So don't be scared to add pipes, vents, or supports that wern't in the game because chances are it will look better than the orriginal.
Looks really good. Also, listen to the guy who posted above me, he hit the nail on the spot. I'd love to see a MGS remake.
But now it's a wee bit too bright.
i have tooken out some off the lights that didn't make it look right
I think it rocks man. People on here are harsh =] I know Liam, and I think his mapping skills are brilliant for a 12 year old. Edit: better than me and I'm 22
Jesus, everyone is 12 on here, didn't you know that? Edit:
Here's a small vmf I whipped up to help you with your detail problems(there is more detail I could have added but this is just to show you a couple things you can do). Make things realistic. Think of where something is and what is used to keep it up. Like supports, trusses, footings etc. Use google images or something to gather an understanding for your project. You have slightly over 8000 brushes you can use. On a map this little don't go skimpy on them. Don't over do it though or there could be issues there too. For the rest of you either encourage and give advice or shut the fuck up.
Looks ok I guess.
I can make you some custom textures if you want ,just PM me what you need
I really think you should learn correct spelling and grammar before you do this...
I really think you should learn correct spelling and grammar before you do this...
What does that have to do with anything? He's making a map

You need to work on your mapping skill a little bit more first I think. Looks blocky and the lighting needs a serious makeover. However, I give you the best of luck and hope it comes out smoothly
-snip-
then lets see you continue. MGS1 is the best!
Yep, same goes for me. Anyway, I suggest you learn to use capital letters and punctuation first before doing anything here. :v: Also, I wouldn't start out with a project this ambitious. Start with smaller things first. And then, practise, practise and practise.
I don't know, maybe a project this big could be good for a beginner, because he he tries to be accurate (although I've never played the game) it could give him a chance to use all kinds funcs and envs and whatnot, and he can just go back, and improve his work. The hardest thing i found when mapping, was finding the right opportunities to use different skills, and finding something to work on, that i cared about enough to stick to.
