have they said anything about it yet?
Nothing about the SDK, they mention the updates to GCF Scrape in the changelog.
I'm having problems with nav files. "Map Unplayable", even after generating a nav file. Any help anyone?

I think I found out why this happens today.
You NEED AI nodes EVERYWHERE around the map.
If you do not have 1 AI node, it will say that :(
Holy Shit!
Someone quick, Do shaun of the dead!
This calls for a recreation of the winchester!

THANK YOU! Going to try that tommorow, it is 3:34 AM and I am tired now.
Uhh, L4D doesn't use AI nodes if I'm right, it uses .nav files like in CS:S. I looked at it briefly and it seemed cvomplicated but apparently you can enter in a console command while playing on your map and it'll automatically generate it for you although I'm sure it'll have some hiccups.

You sure about that?
Someone told me that to make a map work without that error you have to place some AI nodes.

Well why don't you try for the rest of facepunch? :D
Edit:
Oh and, it does use NAV files.
Heh, why can't people wait the the real SDK to come out?
Heh, why can't people wait the the real SDK to come out?
Don't see why we should, it's not breaking any rules, it's just giving us some time to play around with it.
They forgot an ent! In l4d_smalltown03_ranchhouse, there is an ent called info_zombie spawn used to create the church guy, it's hammerid is 2717089, it's population is church guy. Someone please add it!
Thank you, so much!
Updated the .fgd with info_zombie_spawn and func_simpleladder spawnflags.

Very helpful. I'll updated the original post, thanks mate.
do the beam spot lights work properly?
What entails "properly"?
What entails "properly"?
Functionally i guess. And yes, they worked for me.
Tip: The more you use info_nodes, the better NPCs can navigate.
Unfortunately info_node spamming will make NPCs really smart, so they can avoid all obstacles.
In L4D this would mean, that your team will survive for like... 20 seconds.
I have an issue on the first step, the "Modify Half-Life 2 Multiplayer" is grayed out..
I want the new engine, more than anything.

You need to have HL2:DM.
Edit:
QWERTYUIOP
Doesn't work for me.
The textures and such will load up in Hammer if I skip the .fgd step, but I can't launch it in-engine, and if I add the .fgd or change the directory settings in hammer it loses all the textures/etc.
Might as well just wait for the proper SDK and avoid the bugginess.
THANK YOU! Mapping King'ed

You can use anything you like from the list doesn't matter
Doesn't work for me :( No grid or anything, no textures.
I'll wait for the official one.
Nice. But i'll also wait for the official SDK.
:3:
How am I going to figure out which textures are from HL2 and which L4D-exclusive?
The "l4d" keyword only shows 21 textures.
Every time I try to make a mod, it keeps crashing basically right at the end! How can I fix this?
Edit:
Do you need the Orange Box for it to work?
What entails "properly"?
Functional, the Beamspot light is supposed to be a combination of a light_spot and a point_spotlight but the options make it only have options for a point_spotlight.

The zombies in L4D use navs, not info_nodes

You probably need the Orange Box for compiling the maps and having them work in L4D, I'm not 100% sure though.

You have to guess. Most of the textures are obvious to pick out.
Where have I seen this before, oh ya,
