When is the real SDK coming?

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a question though; I've created the fake mod and extracted all the stuff, however I'm on the part where you add the entities (I've downloaded the .fgd file) and when I try to run Hammer (using Orange Box engine version) it simply pops up a message telling me "Error: No Game configurations to run with" I have neither TF2 nor Portal nor EP2. Are these required? If so, why? I have Gmod 10 & Left 4 Dead and from what i understand Gmod uses the Ep2 engine and Left 4 Dead uses an even later version... it would seem redundant for Orange Box to be a requirement.
On Step 3, the first link is broken. Is it possible for you to please fix this?

when I press f9 to play the map, a message keep appearing on the screen, "invalid or corrupt background texture materials/console/startup_loading.vtf" and L4D wont open. Can some one please help me.

If so, how?
When i play the map it says "MAP NOT PLAYABLE" And i fall into...nothingness forever
You need to create a navigation mess for the NPC to know where to go and not go.

Is it just me, or do a lot of the models not show up in hammer? The whole exploding gas station set is invisible and so are a lot of other models. That's not launching Left 4 Dead, it's launching a source mod :confused: That's why it's crashing with a map background error, because you're trying to launch an uncompiled mod!

Thanks, the normal zombies spawn now and I followed that link you posted and it helps a lot. I'm still getting the nav error but i'm trying all the instructions from the link.

Hammer is located in the Source SDK under the tools tab, Also on the ent func_door under flags, there is a ??? on the sliding door in the generator room crescendo in the second level of no mercy. Could this be looked at?
I can't get my safehouse to work. Does it need a trigger_changelevel to be registered as a safehouse when the nav is generated? To get the map to work, you need 2 safe rooms, one must have 4 survivor starting position ents and one info_Playerstart, in the second safe room add a trigger_changelevel with a landmark telling the level to change to a certain map.
I get an error: Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'c:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\SourceMods\Left4Fake Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting.
Two saferooms as in a start and an end? What actually sends the trigger_changelevel the changelevel input? And does it need to be named?

Arg! When you use some models L4D crashes on loading the map. For Example if you use the bus stop model as a prop_static, the level will not load. If I remove it the map loads. This happens for a bunch of other models too!
the fgd file appears to be down, any alternative places I can get it?

Is anyone else having problems with mapping for l4d? Whenever I make about 10+ models l4d crashes on loading the map and the compile log is 100% clean.
